Screwed: A Prison Story is a novel I was intrigued to read from the premise alone. From the beginning of Screwed: A Prison Story, I was turning the pages fast with haste thanks to the abundance of intrigue, drama and dramatic events laced throughout the pages. If you are a reader who loves crime and novels inspired by real events, then you should read Screwed: A Prison Story as it is unlike anything you have ever read before!

Screwed: A Prison Story is a sensational book that will introduce the reader to the protagonist of the novel, Gabrielle Townsend. Gabrielle Townsend has a stable job working at a bank. However, he quits his job and decides to move to the country to work at Mingalo prison. It is here that he will be thrust into a new and very different working environment in which he must navigate a destructive working culture all while he ‘tries to be one of the boys’ and this book lovers is the premise of the incredible Screwed: A Prison Story!  

The story laced between the pages of Screwed: A Prison Story is thrilling and unlike anything I have read before. The story is an intriguing one because the reader is granted an inside look into what it is like to work in a prison and this is helped by the fact that the author himself worked in a prison, so he is the perfect person to tell this tale! The reader does not know what is about to happen at all throughout Screwed: A Prison Story, and so it captivates them to read because they will be desperate to know what will happen. As I read the book, I found myself invested very quickly in the story and wanted to know more and that is something I love in a story!

The plot in Screwed: A Prison Story is incredible and full of many layers that are all intricately well-developed, as well as intriguing. The multiple layers throughout the story are fascinating and will have the reader’s minds racing with thoughts. Chester Hart has managed to write an incredible novel that is full of intrigue and suspense. This will keep readers of Screwed: A Prison Story turning the pages into the early hours of the morning. Hart is a writer who does not hold back; he thrusts his reader into the thick of the drama very early on, and he keeps them turning the pages thanks to his excellent descriptive powers. The author perfectly describes the scenes in his book, as well as his characters, and this correctly places the reader in the thick of the story as the reader can imagine every place and event perfectly.

To summarize my thoughts on the thrilling novel that is Screwed: A Prison Story, I would say if you are a reader who is tired of reading the same old novels that are lackluster and forgettable, then take a chance on this excellent read, because I promise that you will not be disappointed.
