As I began to read The Third Estate, I immediately knew that this would be a fast-paced mystery, and now that I have finished the novel, I can happily write that the book is just this! It is an intriguing thriller that captivated me with its heart-pounding moments and phenomenal literature courtesy of author D.R. Berlin. If you are a reader who loves being taken on a journey that is full of shocking moments that are memorable as well as astounding, then you will love The Third Estate, so do not miss out! The Third Estate is an incredible novel that will introduce the reader to the protagonist of the story, Sophie Allard, a rising star at a distinguished military academy. Sophie’s life however gets turned upside down when faced with the shocking news that her estranged father has perished in a mysterious explosion at their ancestral home and thus our tale begins.
The reader will follow Sophie on what seems like a standard investigation at first but soon morphs into a perilous quest for the truth as secrets come to the surface. As Sophie digs deeper into the suspicious circumstances of her father’s death, she unearths alarming secrets that jeopardize both her career and her life. Sophie must navigate a labyrinth of deceit and treachery, as she discovers that her father’s ties to a covert organization known as the Third Estate may be the key to everything. What follows is a shocking and unforgettable tale in which Sophie must uncover the nature of the Third Estate and survive the conspiracy she finds herself in and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible The Third Estate!
The story of The Third Estate is a stellar one that had me intrigued from the very start. I love any story with an investigation/time running out theme, so I knew from the beginning that The Third Estate would deliver thanks to these themes, and wow did it! From the start, the reader is immediately thrust into the thick of the story, the reader will feel as if their breath has been knocked out of them by how fast the reader is pushed into the thick of the plot. I personally love this approach with a novel, especially if it is a thriller/mystery-based one; what is the point in waiting for the action to start? None in my opinion so that is why I love how the excellent author D.R. Berlin decided to throw her reader into the story; it made for an exhilarating read, one that I would recommend to all of you lovely readers!
D.R. Berlin is a phenomenal writer who knows how to grasp her reader’s attention from the first page. Berlin, instead of writing a long build-up thrusts her reader into the heart of the story straight away so that the reader is immersed and captivated by the story quickly. I am impressed by Berlin’s ability and decision to place the reader in the thick of the drama early on because sometimes a long build-up can kill the story before it has even started, so I am impressed with Berlin for her excellent plot device.
D.R. Berlin is not only brilliant at weaving intelligent plot devices throughout their book; plot devices such as twists and turns and shocking moments, to entertain their readers, but she is also a fantastic writer for her descriptive literature. The explanatory powers of Berlin will immerse the reader in the novel, as they will be able to imagine the unfolding investigation entirely.
Overall The Third Estate is a chilling, thought-provoking, and captivating story that will easily entertain readers for many days and nights, I, of course, have to award the thrilling book five stars! If you are a reader who loves thriller and investigation novels but finds they are all similar, then I challenge you to read The Third Estate because it will remind you that there are fantastic novels out there still that are original and highly entertaining!
