Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace is an exceptional book written by Tracey Buchanan that entertained and captivated me from the start. Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace was captivating to me from the start thanks to the premise of the story and the bewitching literature courtesy of the author, Tracey Buchanan who from the beginning hooked me with her fantastic story that stands out amongst its genre!
It is rare to find a novel that combines the themes this book does, and that is refreshing to me and so that is why I already recommend this book to you lovely readers! However, if you need more convincing, then continue to read to learn more!
Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace is a unique and exceptional novel that will take its readers on a stellar journey from start to finish. Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace will take the reader back in time to 1952 and introduce the reader to the protagonist of the tale, Mrs. Minerva Place, a widow who wants to be left alone in her small Kentucky town of Paducah but the opposite seems to be happening. Instead, Minerva finds herself bothered by nosy neighbors and lingering church members and when the residents of the local cemetery start bothering her too, she finds she has had enough and wonders if she is losing her mind.
However, this event changes the course of her life as her life becomes disrupted by a six-year-old but his perseverance finds a way to break down Minerva’s barrier. Tragedy soon strikes however which causes Minerva’s life to detail once again the reader will follow Minerva as she navigates this and it makes for a thoughtful and unforgettable tale that shouldn’t be missed! And this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace!
The premise of Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace is exceptional, original, and beyond captivating! I loved the many themes and elements explored throughout the book, and all themes are explored by Tracey Buchanan wonderfully, and she does this by lacing these interesting themes throughout the text flawlessly and weaving them with the story. The result of this makes Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace a highly addictive and fascinating read that is never once lackluster or predictable.
Tracey Buchanan is a phenomenal writer who knows how to grasp her reader’s attention from the first page. Buchanan decides to thrust her reader into the heart of the story straight away so that the reader is instantly captivated and immersed. I personally love this approach, what is the point of having a long build-up with little excitement? This is only necessary if the author in question can’t develop the characters in the story quickly, but with Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace, the reader will not encounter this issue because Buchanan instantly develops her characters and makes the reader invest in not only them but also their journey!
To conclude my thoughts on the wonderful book Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace, I would say Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace is a wonderful, compelling, and thought-provoking novel that will easily entertain readers for many days and nights and so I, of course, have to award this stellar gem of a book five stars!
