Julu is the first book in the Julu Series by author Jan Anderegg and what a phenomenal start it is! Julu is a charming and captivating children’s book that will take young readers on a spell-binding and entertaining journey from start to finish. The novel is brilliant and full of fantastic detail and events beyond your wildest imagination and that is why I already recommend this novel to you lovely readers! Julu is a multi-layered novel with many plot avenues which are all perfectly weaved together by the exceptional author Jan Anderegg and in Julu, the reader will be introduced to many characters including Jack Lemoine. Jack is an ordinary 11-year-old living in Connecticut and it is here that he one day discovers an opal dragon egg. This discovery changes Jack’s life forever and he soon learns of a magical place called Jirvania where stories literally grow. Faeries from this land bring “story-pearls” to all the artists of the world but soon everything goes disastrously wrong and it is up to Jack to save Jirvania and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Julu!
The story of Julu is excellent and incredibly well-developed thanks to Jan Anderegg, the author of the book. Jan Anderegg manages to develop her world with immaculate detail; every event, character, and setting is well thought out and planned, and I was impressed by Anderegg’s flawless ability to do this. As I read Julu, I immediately was drawn into the book and felt captivated by Anderegg’s literature, and this is for many reasons. The main reason is that Anderegg’s literature is detailed in the most immaculate of ways, the text is detailed but not heavy, it is beautifully written so that the reader will be able to immerse themselves in the story from beginning to end without difficulty.
While reading Julu, the reader will be able to feel Jan Anderegg’s pursuit of literary perfection and her drive to entertain young readers. Anderegg’s riveting tale keeps the pages turning of their own accord, and it makes for such captivating reading! Jan Anderegg seamlessly hooks the reader and immediately immerses the reader in her world of fantasy through her fast-paced writing style, beautifully detailed descriptions, and flawless character integration.
Overall Julu sends you into a tailspin of a journey packed full of exciting twists and turns that leave you both guessing and wanting more. Once you pick up Julu, you won’t be able to put it down…I know I couldn’t! Of course, with such a fantastic piece of literature, I have to award Julu five stars!
