When Nora Youngblood’s father dies on her sixteenth birthday, it’s the end of everything she ever knew. But a new journey begins with a skull-shaped pocket watch – the last gift from her father, a professor of archaeology. Where did this mysterious trinket come from, and why would a warlock named Kabos now be hunting her for it? Nora, now an orphan, finds protection under a wizard named Malachi, his handsome apprentice, Aidan, and a brother she never knew she had. As she learns the truth about her family’s mysterious past, Nora seeks to uncover the secret of the skull, which leads to both a powerful and dangerous weapon. With the fate of the skull in her hands, she’s lured into the hidden world of Dubhgail to combat the treacherous Kabos – who has kidnapped her brother. Can she sacrifice herself to save her brother and her friends? In this fantasy novel, a teenage girl discovers her magical heritage and soon finds herself facing the might of an evil warlock in another world.
Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is an excellent book written by the exceptional and talented A.M Albaugh and wow what a stellar story! Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is a book I was keen to read ever since discovering it because I always love to find inspiring adventure/fantasy stories to read so when I discovered Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull I thought ‘is this finally the perfect book?!’. Now that I have finished Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull, I can happily write that yes it is book lovers. Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is one of the most well written and well-developed stories I have ever come across, and I genuinely mean this as Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is exceptional and should not be missed!
Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is a fantasy adventure that will introduce the reader to the protagonist of the novel Nora Youngblood, a young woman whose life is about to change drastically on her sixteenth birthday. Nora’s father sadly passes away on her birthday, and this starts a serious motion of events that will take her on a journey like no other. When Nora’s father passes, she is lost, and all she has to remember him is a ‘skull-shaped pocket watch.’ However, this is no ordinary watch as Nora will still find out when a warlock called Kabos hunts her to take it. This forces Nora to explore her family’s mysterious past and unveil secrets all while she tries to keep herself and the ones she loves safe and this book lovers is the premise of the incredible Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull!
The story of Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is a thrilling one thanks to the enthralling and action-packed moments as well as the unpredictable nature of the book that will have the readers turning the pages with haste from beginning to end. I love books that involve a journey because usually in these stories the character develops and grows as they overcome events and battles which in turn adds to the development of the character and explores life lessons throughout the book and that is most certainly the case with Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull. What I loved most about Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is that the reader is taken on an adventure that is continuously evolving and changing which in turn kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is a remarkable, fascinating and addictive read that managed to entertain me for many hours on end thanks to the unique premise of the story as well as the great literature courtesy of Albaugh.
A.M. Albaugh is an incredibly talented author who clearly knows how to write unique but engaging stories. It was evident to me from the start that Albaugh is a passionate writer who surely loves entertaining readers with her literature and putting a smile on readers’ faces. I loved this about the author, but what I loved the most about Albaugh’s writing is her remarkable descriptions because they genuinely amazed me. Fantasy novels, in general, are challenging to write because you have to transport the reader quickly and effortlessly, but sadly this is rarely accomplished in a fantasy story but not with Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull. Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is the way it is because Albaugh knows what she is doing!
Overall Grim Nora and the Secret of the Skull is a marvelous, stellar and supreme fantasy book that will entertain, delight as well as charm young readers and even adults! And so I, of course, have to award this book five stars!
