Code of Rainbow: Soaring Flame and the Dragon-transcending Magimal is book one in the Code of Rainbow series written by the exceptional and talented author Weiqi Wang and wow what a stellar start to a series! Code of Rainbow is a book I was keen to read ever since discovering it because I always love to find adorable, heart-warming and inspiring adventure/fantasy stories to read so when I discovered Code of Rainbow I thought ‘is this finally the perfect book?!’. Now that I have finished Code of Rainbow I can happily write that yes it is book lovers. Code of Rainbow is one of the most well written and well-developed stories I have ever come across, and I truly mean this as Code of Rainbow is exceptional and should not be missed!
Code of Rainbow is a fantasy adventure that will introduce the reader to the protagonist, Soarame, a unique boy who is gifted with special eyes that give him the ability to see magic others cannot. Soarame’s eyes are the envy of those who know, and although some may think his sight is a gift, it is also a curse because now he sees things that could reveal shocking truths as well as put him in danger. The reader will follow Soarame as well as his friend and ‘magimal,’ a dragon who has powers on a dangerous but life-changing adventure and this book lovers is the premise of the sensational Code of Rainbow!
The story of Code of Rainbow is a thrilling one thanks to the enthralling and action-packed moments as well as the unpredictable nature of the book that will have the readers turning the pages with haste from beginning to end. I love books that involve a journey because usually in these stories the character develops and grows as they overcome events and battles which in turn adds to the development of the character and explores life lessons throughout the book and that is most certainly the case with Code of Rainbow. What I loved most about Code of Rainbow is that the reader is taken on an adventure that is continuously evolving and changing and that in turn kept my attention.
Weiqi Wang is an incredibly talented author who clearly knows how to write unique but engaging stories. It was evident to me from the start that Wang is a passionate writer who surely loves entertaining readers with his literature and putting a smile on readers’ faces. I loved this about the author but what I loved the most about Wang’s writing is his remarkable descriptions because they genuinely amazed me. Fantasy novels, in general, are difficult to write because you have to transport the reader quickly and effortlessly, but sadly this is rarely accomplished in a fantasy story but not with Code of Rainbow. Code of Rainbow is the way it is because Wang knows what he is doing! Wang knows how to whisk his readers away to a fantasy land and entice them with magnificent descriptions and keep readers entertained from start to finish!
Overall Code of Rainbow is a marvelous, stellar and supreme fantasy book that will entertain, delight as well as charm young readers and even adults! And so I, of course, have to award this book five stars!
