RED HEADED BOOK LOVER

Winds of Wyoming, Rebecca Carey Lyles

Will Kate Neilson’s past imprison her again? Fresh out of a Pennsylvania penitentiary armed with a marketing degree, Kate Neilson heads to Wyoming anticipating an anonymous new beginning as a guest-ranch employee. A typical twenty-five-year-old woman might be looking to lasso a cowboy, but her only desire is to get on with life on the outside—despite her growing interest in the ranch owner. When she discovers a violent ex-lover followed her west, she fears the past she hoped to hide will imprison her once again.

Winds of Wyoming is a moving, incredible and captivating novel that made me fall in love with Christian fiction all over again. Winds of Wyoming is a stunning book thanks to the poignant messages laced throughout it as well as its compelling literature that is so beautiful that it is almost poetic. The plot, combined with the addictive characters make Winds of Wyoming a stellar read that compelled me to read from beginning to end and so, I am already going to recommend this gem of a book! However, if you need more convincing then continue to read to learn more about this book.

Winds of Wyoming follows the female protagonist of the novel, Kate Neilson. Kate from a young age has had a tough time, and this leads her down a path which eventually finds her in the Pennsylvania Penitentiary. Kate while there, however, finds the Lord and when she does she starts to look at the world anew and know that there is more out there. Kate decides to work hard, and it pays off because she soon earns a marketing degree and earns an internship upon her release. Kate is excited for her fresh start on a ranch, in the middle of nowhere surrounded by beauty and animals… sounds like heaven right? Well, it would have been, but Kate’s journey for peace is soon disrupted when a ‘violent ex-lover’ tracks her down. What follows is a thrilling novel about redemption, blossoming romance and a new beginning and this book lovers is the premise of this exciting novel that should not be missed.

Winds of Wyoming is a gem of a book that I needed to read. For so long I have read books that are quite oppressive so to read a novel that yes, features a few troubling themes but tastefully and compellingly was refreshing! Besides the journey, the reader encounters is a mesmerizing one, and I loved following the protagonist of the novel on her journey. Winds of Wyoming indeed was a heart-warming read, and the blossoming romance at the heart of it made me fall in love! Although know book lovers that Winds of Wyoming is not all lovey-dovey, in fact, there are some troubling themes and even thrilling themes that kept me reading for hours on end!

Winds of Wyoming is full of twists and turns galore, the book and the story that unravels is thrilling and will keep your hearts racing, and there are a few moments which will definitely shock its readers! I love how the author Rebecca Carey Lyles kept me on edge constantly and made me feel a host of different emotions, Lyles is an exceptional writer because she knows just how to captivate her reader and keep them engrossed from beginning to end. I always measure my likeness of a book on whether I find myself looking at the page number; if I do in fact do this I know that the novel is taking its toll… in other words it is dragging, and I want it to end but Winds of Wyoming was different than this and not like this at all as never once did I find myself referring to the page number and that is a sure sign that this book is a compelling piece of work that draws the reader in and captivates them to read it quickly and to reach the end of the book very fast!

The author of the novel Winds of Wyoming can only be described as a literary artisan. Writing for me is an art form, it is much of an art as beautiful renaissance sculptures (I have a passion for reading as well as the renaissance period!), paintings and wonderfully executed movies that excite the viewer. The objective of any great writer is that of an artist; it is to communicate a message and to delight the recipient whether that be the listener, the viewer or the reader… in this case the reader. Lyles has wonderfully charmed me and has communicated the novel’s message to me soundly and perfectly. This is why I am in such awe of her, she is a creative genius and a visionary thinker that is also passionate and articulate and this, in my opinion, is a hard balance to find these days in the art of literature.

Overall Winds of Wyoming is a charismatic novel, and I would say if you are a reader who is tired of reading the same old books that are lackluster and forgettable then take a chance with this one because I promise you now that you will not be disappointed. It is a novel that has everything the reader would want in a read and so much more; it has spine-tingling good content, dynamic, memorable characters, a charismatic author that writes beautifully and wonderfully so and lastly it is an all-around, entertaining, unforgettable read that you will not be disappointed if you choose to read it. My rating for this beautiful book, of course, has to be five stars!

Thanks so much, Aimee Ann, for such a kind, thorough review. You’re amazing!!! “Winds of Wyoming” was a fun but stretching novel for me as I morphed from nonfiction to fiction writing, which was quite the learning process. In fact, I needed 15 years to write that book. I began with a weak premise — a woman leaves the East Coast and moves West. Not real exciting and rather lacking in a plotline. One night shortly after we’d moved from Wyoming to the Arizona desert, I was driving home from assisting with a Bible study at a women’s prison (love… Read more »
