Unjust is a unique and captivating story that will take its readers on a shocking journey full of twists and turns galore. The reader in Unjust will be introduced to attorney Jason Michelson, who has been tasked with helping Maxwell Williams alongside his partner Rachel Nix. Maxwell is a black man who has spent forty years in jail for the raping and murder of his girlfriend. Maxwell had a bright future ahead of him but this was ripped from him thanks to the injustices and corruption he faced, and it is only now, forty years later that he has a shot at freedom. The reader will follow Jason along with Rachel as they compile new evidence to exonerate him while also getting closer to who murdered Maxwell’s girlfriend Amelia and this book overs is the short premise of the incredible Unjust!
The story of Unjust is brilliant, and I adored the journey the wonderful author took me on. Brooke Holmes, J.D. managed to incorporate many unexpected twists effortlessly so that the readers will turn the page with haste! As I read this book, I found myself re-reading parts because of how brilliant it was. It was magnificent to feel this, and I love it when an author does this to a reader, this is how reading should be! Full of shocks and surprises and great thrilling moments that you will remember for a long time; if not forever.
Brooke Holmes, J.D. is a brilliant writer who has written a fantastic story and come up with a brilliant plot. Holmes from the very start sets the tone of the novel; she lets her readers know that this is going to be a dark and atmospheric book thanks to her literature and wow was it! Holmes is exceptional because she grabs her reader’s attention from the start very quickly and keeps them engrossed until the end. There are no long build-ups that drag in Unjust; instead, the reader will be thrown into the thick of the story quickly, and the result of this is incredibly exciting.
Brooke Holmes, J.D. is a talented author; there is no question about this. Holmes’ writing keeps the reader on the edge of their seat; her suspense-filled book reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies; there is a constant feeling of trepidation and a continuous sense of “what is going to happen next?!” as I read this book. I was enthralled because this is how thriller books should be! So truly book lovers, this book needs to be read and loved!
To conclude my thoughts on this exceptional story, I would say if you have been bored of late of books that well, don’t thrill you, then take a chance with this one because it is an all-consuming assault of brilliance that will keep you entertained from the beginning to end!
