The Icon is an incredible book I wanted to read ever since discovering it. Readers now and then will come across that one book that blows them away and The Icon was that book for me. This is thanks to the unique premise, unlike anything I have read of or heard before, the incredible protagonist and the sensational literature courtesy of the author Carla Golian. That is why I am already going to recommend The Icon to you lovely readers, and yes, it may be early on in my review, but The Icon is a novel not to be missed! The Icon is a sensational, unique and thrilling novel that will take its readers on a journey like no other. In The Icon, the reader will meet the protagonist of the novel, Victoria who one day discovers a book called “La Très Sainte Pyramide”, which translates to The Most Holy Pyramid. When Victoria discovers this book, her world is forever changed and she embarks on an adventure to Paris to find the author. What she finds in Paris is love, mysticism and shocks and secrets galore and this book lovers is the short premise of the thrilling The Icon!

The Icon is an addictive novel that hooked and captivated me from the beginning to the end. I was hooked early on thanks to the sharp opening and unique premise. I was fascinated by the premise and the overall story Carla Golian has written and so I was hooked from start to finish, constantly wanting to know more and see what would happen to the story I had become invested in! As well as this, the premise of The Icon is exceptional, original and unlike anything I have read before. Carla Golian really has accomplished the near-impossible, Golian has managed to write an entertaining, bewitching and flawless story that will perfectly unfold in readers’ minds like a movie.

Carla Golian is an excellent writer who knows how to grasp her reader’s attention from the first page. Golian instead of writing long, drawn-out builds up which are commonly found in novels, decides to ditch this approach and thrust her reader into the heart of the story straight away so that the reader is instantly captivated and immersed. The result is a fast-paced, thrilling and unforgettable novel that belongs on every reader’s bookshelves!

To conclude, The Icon is a thrilling, compelling and thought-provoking novel that will easily entertain readers for many days and nights and so, I, of course, have to award this stellar gem of a book five stars!
