The Dagger is a fast-paced, fantasy packed novel with themes of suspense, magic, and poignancy and is a novel that every reader needs to possess! The reader in The Dagger will be introduced to the Madigan family, and specifically, one of its members Bridget Madigan and the family has a secret… they are witches. Bridget is a detective working in Boston, and she has sworn to never use magic again. However Bridget soon breaks her rule and uses it to watch a flashback of a murder but when she does, she will come to the shocking revelation that it implicates her own blood and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible The Dagger!

The story laced throughout The Dagger is full of action and suspense and these two themes, combined with many others, even poignant ones! Are weaved together flawlessly by the author Marieke Lexmond and the result is an incredibly entertaining story that I will not forget for a long time!

Marieke Lexmond is the author of The Dagger and I wish so much I had found her work sooner! I wish I had because it has been a long time since I have read a witch based tale this good! Marieke Lexmond has managed to write a tale that makes for the perfect escape from everyday life. This is because her tale knows just how to whisk readers away and take them on an adventure full of ups and downs but always thrilling moments! As well as this the descriptions are beautiful and they will correctly place you in the thick of the story, making you imagine every detail as well as making you imagine you are right there with the protagonist of the novel! This, in turn, keeps the reader hooked and turning the pages which is what a reader would want in a novel!

Overall The Dagger is a magnificent, sensational and entertaining book that will easily entertain its readers and captivate them to read for many hours so I, of course, have to award this incredible book five stars! Be sure to have a read of the preview below book lovers; you will not regret it!
