The Antidotes is an incredible tale that will take readers on a brilliant journey from beginning to end! The reader in The Antidotes will meet the protagonist of the tale, ten-year-old Gir who along with his friends make a shocking discovery that involves the waters of the Chesapeake Bay being polluted by untested plastic-easting bacteria by the company ThermoPoly. Leading to disastrous consequences for children and marine wildlife with a disease threatening to spread. Gir and his fellow classmates take it upon themselves to become the ‘antidote’, to stop the company from polluting the waters and spread the word before it is too late and what follows is an incredible children’s adventure with a poignant and inspirational message and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible The Antidotes!
The Antidotes is an excellent, well-developed story thanks to the author Patty Mechael. Mechael manages to magnificently develop her world with immaculate detail. Every detail, event, character, and the settings are well thought out, and the result is an absorbing read that is unforgettable as well as captivating! The detail in this novel is immaculate and detailed, but it is never too heavy that it becomes difficult to read. Instead, Mechael has ensured that the feature complements the story so that the reader will be able to fully immerse themselves in the book without difficulty!
Patty Mechael is an incredible writer who flawlessly writes her fantastic journey and takes her readers on an engaging journey that makes the reader feel included. Mechael’s faultless writing combined with her intriguing characterization of characters make The Antidotes a stellar read that will keep you hooked until the very end! Mechael ensures that readers are entertained throughout, and she does this by lacing twists and turns throughout the book to ensure readers will never get bored which is always a sign of a true wordsmith!
