Smokescreen is another captivating tale courtesy of the wonderful author Amy Pendino who took me on a shocking but memorable journey and is a book that I have fallen in love with! Smokescreen is a book that captured my attention from the start as it is another installment in the Witness Tree series that I love! So I was excited to get lost in its pages and now that I have finished it I can happily write that it has everything the reader would want and more! Such as twists and turns, gripping literature, and a fast-paced story filled with heart that can be read with ease.
Smokescreen is the incredible third book in the Witness Tree Series that will reintroduce the reader to the protagonist of the series, Dani Holden, whose life is once again turned upside down when her neighbor disappears which sets off a chain of events. Not only does Holden have to deal with this disappearance, but she is also subpoenaed to testify at a money laundering hearing while helping her friend’s granddaughter with a place to stay.
It is safe to say Dani has a lot on her plate right now and when a fire breaks out in her rural Iowa town that is discovered to be arson, matters only get more complicated… especially when her friend’s granddaughter is questioned. This leads Dani to embark on a journey to uncover the truth and unravel this mystery all while the local sheriff begins showing romantic interest in her and the result is an incredible third book in this wonderful series!
If you are a reader looking to get lost in a great read, full of many poignant and unforgettable moments combined with thrilling themes that will provoke your thoughts, then Smokescreen is for you! This book has all of this and so much more and will leave you breathless on many occasions. Smokescreen is a phenomenal book written by the incredible author Amy Pendino who does a fantastic job of making her reader invest in her story from the start as well as build her story quickly, and I have to say I am very impressed with this as this is hard to accomplish! However, Amy Pendino pulled it off as she is a genuinely brilliant author whose book stands out amongst its genre.
The story of Smokescreen is brilliant, and I loved the thrilling journey the author took me on. Amy Pendino managed to incorporate many unexpected twists effortlessly so that the readers would turn the page with haste! As I read this book, I found myself re-reading parts because of how shocking it was! It was magnificent to feel this, and I love it when an author does this to a reader, this is how reading should be! Full of shocks and surprises and great thrilling moments that you will remember for a long time; if not forever!
Overall, Smokescreen is a fantastic, captivating, and noteworthy book that will be the perfect read for you to pick up and get lost in! That is why I, of course, have to award this stellar book, five stars! So be sure to have a read of the book, you won’t regret it!
