The reader in Shut’em Down will be taken on an eye-opening, educational, and captivating journey that will keep you hooked until the very end. Shut’em Down, co-authored by Dr. Tara Hines-McCoy, will take her readers on a journey through racism in the workplace. The journey the reader will encounter is at times shocking because of what Dr. Tara Hines-McCoy shares, as well as the other 19 black women throughout Shut’em Down, however, the book is also an educational one that will inform readers on key issues which will start conversations and spark change. Readers are guaranteed to learn a lot from McCoy’s excellent literature and so that is why I already recommend this wonderful book to you lovely readers, however, if you need more convincing then continue to read to learn more about Shut’em Down!

Shut’em Down is an incredible anthology book, composed of 20 stories from black women who share their experiences in corporate America. The reader in Shut’em Down will be granted 20 stories from 20 women who all share their experiences as well as provide insight into what it is like working as a black woman in America today. The women throughout bravely and honestly share their stories which touch on topics such as racism, abuse, and even trauma.

As such poignant topics are discussed the reader will feel invested and you will feel a host of different emotions while reading Shut’em Down. Shut’em Down is a hard-hitting book by nature thanks to the shocking truths it shares but it is also an inspirational book written by incredible and powerful women who bravely share their stories so that change can happen and how safer work environments can be created for black professionals and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Shut’em Down!

The profoundness in Shut’em Down is sensational, and many readers will feel a host of different emotions while reading this book. McCoy as well as the other authors in Shut’em Down effortlessly inspire thoughts and feelings in their readers as well as compel them to read from beginning to end. I found myself reading Shut’em Down at an alarming rate because it was captivating as well as engrossing.

As well as this Shut’em Down is a beautifully written book that flows flawlessly from beginning to end. The layout is seamless and each story is powerful and thought-provoking and I believe everybody should read this book and these amazing women’s stories.

Overall Shut’em Down is an insightful, informative, captivating book and I would say if you are a reader who is interested in the topics explored in Shut’em Down then this book is for you, and so Shut’em Down gets five stars from me!
