Planet 9: Epitaph is quite simply one of the most exciting, incredible science fiction sequels I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time! Planet 9: Epitaph has astounded me; I enjoyed every single moment of the book because it was by far a perfect and incredibly enjoyable read. The wonderful author of the novel, Stuart McKinnon, is a true literary talent because he managed to captivate and enthral me from the very beginning with his dramatic twists and turns and phenomenal literature that should not be missed!
Planet 9: Epitaph is the sensational follow-up novel to Planet 9, and in book one, we learn of a rogue planet hurtling towards Earth as governments desperately try to keep the impending disaster a secret. However despite this, panic spreads, and nations descend into nuclear war, and a shadowy group known as the Archangel rises and takes control of the last shuttles to Mars in a bid for survival. In book 2, readers will learn that after a fragment of the destroyed Earth speeds towards Mars, the survivors of the fragment find themselves stranded on the planet’s surface. As rescue efforts and urgent calculations begin, the notorious insurgent Viper sets his own plans in motion from Helios Station.
Meanwhile, a disastrous accident on the asteroid Vesta exposes Galaxianite’s unique ability to alter the paths of celestial bodies. With only weeks before impact, Mars and Ganymede must unite in a risky operation to move dangerous material across space in hopes of averting catastrophe. If their desperate mission fails, Mars will face extinction just as Earth did and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Planet 9: Epitaph!
The story of Planet 9: Epitaph is a sensational one because it encompasses everything good about literature. It has an outlandish, brave plot, enthralling characters, and an incredibly well-thought-out story that will keep the reader wanting to read for hours on end! And this is all thanks to the wonderful author Stuart McKinnon.
Stuart McKinnon is a talented author; there is no question about this. McKinnon’s writing keeps the reader on the edge of their seat; his suspense-filled book reminds me of a great sci-fi/ dystopian adventure movie; there is a constant feeling of trepidation and a continuous sense of “what is going to happen next?!” as I read this book. I was enthralled because this is how sci-fi books should be! Stuart McKinnon is not only a brilliant writer for his ability to captivate the reader’s attention straight away, but he is also an excellent author for his ability to lace exceptional twists and turns throughout his story that genuinely had me shocked at points!
The combination of McKinnon’s shocking twists and his explanatory powers will immerse the reader in the story and make them visualise every detail, no matter how small. This writing approach is one of my favourites because it makes the reader feel included in the story and makes the reader feel as if they are in the same situation as the protagonists of the novel.
To conclude my thoughts on the brilliant piece of literature that is Planet 9: Epitaph, I would say if you are looking for a sci-fi adventure that is unlike anything you have read before… a read that will keep you entertained for hours on end as well as enthral you, then this incredible book is for you! Planet 9: Epitaph five stars from me!
