Stories of this nature are some of my favorite books to read so when I read the description of Outrunning the Hunter I was sold and knew that I had to read it as well as review it so that all you lovely readers could read about it! On top of this Kyona Jiles is a superb writer whose previous two books First Death and Second Chance I loved so I was excited to start this series by Jiles! And let me tell you now book lovers that it did not disappoint!

Outrunning the Hunter is the incredible first book in the Running Series by Kyona Jiles that kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! The reader in Outrunning the Hunter will meet the tale’s protagonist, Kamielle who is on the run from her mob-connected husband and desperately seeking safety in Oakland after fleeing Chicago. It is here that she starts to find peace again but soon her life will be turned upside down again.

From here the reader will be taken on a thrilling journey as we also meet FBI Agent, Michael Carter whose current mission is to catch a serial killer who targets prostitutes. However, when he meets Kamielle he can’t help but feel drawn to her and becomes entangled in her web of danger. The reader will follow the pair as they begin to rely on each other for both safety and comfort as they face Kamielle’s threatening husband and the result is a captivating and unforgettable tale you won’t want to miss!

The story of Outrunning the Hunter is an incredibly suspenseful but entertaining novel with thought-provoking themes and insights and this is thanks to the wonderful author Kyona Jiles. Kyona Jiles is an exceptional author, and in her book Outrunning the Hunter, she knows how to flawlessly transport her readers into the story as well as to the places the reader is taken to. The descriptions courtesy of Jiles too are phenomenal and they will correctly paint a picture of the places the reader travels to in the reader’s mind which in turn keeps the reader captivated and thrilled from start to finish!

While reading Outrunning the Hunter, the reader will be able to feel Kyona Jiles’ pursuit of literary perfection. Jiles’ riveting tale keeps the pages turning of their own accord, and it makes for such captivating reading! Jiles seamlessly hooks the reader and immediately immerses the reader in her story through her fast-paced writing style, beautifully detailed descriptions, and flawless character integration.
