Nincompoop is a dramatic, moving, and exciting novel that will keep readers entertained, captivated, and engrossed from the very first page. Coming of age stories are currently my go-to read so when I read the description of Nincompoop I was sold and knew that I had to read it as well as review it so that all you lovely readers could read about it! Never before have I been so captivated by a coming of age story in such a short time and this is thanks to the exceptional author John C. Picardi who managed to delight me effortlessly with his tale that is unique and incredibly captivating!

Nincompoop is a unique and brilliant tale that will whisk its readers to New York City in the ’90s and will introduce the reader to the protagonist and star of the book, Leonardo. Leonardo, a twenty-year-old gay graduate dreams of Broadway and so he heads to NYC to make his dream a reality. Leonardo soon finds himself working at Bar Plato, a popular bar owned by the enigmatic and popular Jack Fresh and his wife Mara and everything seems to be going right… that is until Leanoardo discovers that the couple is abusive. The reader will follow Leonardo as he faces adversity and pursues his dreams and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Nincompoop!

The story of Nincompoop is excellent and incredibly well-developed thanks to John C. Picardi, the author of the book. Picardi manages to develop his world with immaculate detail; every event, character, and setting is well thought out and planned, and I was impressed by Picardi’s flawless ability to do this. As I read Nincompoop, I immediately was drawn into the book and felt captivated by Picardi’s literature, and this is for many reasons. The main reason is that Picardi’s literature is detailed in the most immaculate of ways, the text is detailed but not heavy, it is beautifully written so that the reader will be able to immerse themselves in the story from beginning to end without difficulty.

While reading Nincompoop, the reader will be able to feel Picardi’s pursuit of literary perfection. Picardi’s riveting tale keeps the pages turning of their own accord, and it makes for such captivating reading! Picardi seamlessly hooks the reader and immediately immerses the reader in his world through his fast-paced writing style, beautifully detailed descriptions, and flawless character integration.

Overall Nincompoop sends you into a tailspin of a journey packed full of exciting twists and turns that leave you both guessing and wanting more. Once you pick up Nincompoop, you won’t be able to put it down…I know I couldn’t! Of course, with such a fantastic piece of literature, I have to award Nincompoop five stars!
