Imperfect for me was an engrossing read that enthralled me from the very first page to the very last; I struggled to put this book down because I desperately wanted to know what was going to happen to the novel’s memorable characters and I felt this way thanks to the author’s incredible writing that compelled me to read non-stop!
Katy Motiey is a talented and well-accomplished author, and her work is gripping as well as riveting and that is why I already have to recommend this novel to you lovely readers! However, if you need more convincing, then continue to read to learn more about the incredible Imperfect!
Imperfect is a captivating novel full of rich but saddening history and many poignant moments. The reader in Imperfect will be taken on a journey back in time and will witness Iran before and during its revolution. The reader will meet the protagonist of the novel, Vida Shamsa, whose character is based on the author’s mother, as we follow her in the 1970s when her life gets turned upside down unexpectedly. Vida’s husband suddenly passes away and with this comes great turmoil, Vida will have to fight for her rights in a patriarchal society as she fights against her late husband’s family, who try to take control of her children and thus her life. The journey the reader embarks on is a heartbreaking but inspiring one, focusing on the love and courage that can be found in these troubling times and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Imperfect!
The tale of Imperfect is gripping, moving, and let’s not forget incredible. This story truly did astound me with its captivating narration and compelling plotline. As well as it being an excellent and poignant novel, it is also a unique, diverse one that stands out amongst the genre and I have to say that I adored this because I was getting very tired of reading the same old books so thank you, Katy Motiey, for writing a novel that is not only gripping but important!
Katy Motiey can only be described as a talented, accomplished writer who knows what a reader wants in a great story. As I read Imperfect, I read every sentence slowly so that I could absorb all of the book’s information; I felt as if I was there and it made for an immersive reading experience. Motiey is an excellent writer who is well accomplished, and her work astounded me from the very beginning thanks to her storytelling.
To conclude my thoughts on the captivating novel that is Imperfect, I would say if you are bored with the same old books then take a chance with this gem because you will not be disappointed. It has everything you would want in a great story, and that is spine-tingling good content, dynamic, memorable characters, and a brilliant author. Imperfect gets five stars from me, book lovers!
