I Saw a Starburst to Flames, J.R. LaMar

With over 100 poems about everything from flapping ears to dancing pizzas, J.R. LaMar’s, I Saw a Starburst to Flames will take you on an out-of-this-world reading adventure. With instant classics like “My Father Is the President,” “I Am a Young Ventriloquist,” and “My Eyes Popped out of My Head” to funny re-imaginings such as “The Tortoise and The Hare,” this collection of loony works will leave you wishing there were more.

I Saw a Starburst to Flames is a children’s poetry book I was desperate to read ever since discovering it. I love poetry but only if the poems that are written are entertaining and well written however it is even more tricky to find the same in a children’s book for my children! However, I Saw a Starburst to Flames is an exceptional children’s poetry book that will be perfect for all young readers! I love poetry, but sadly these days poems do not read as nicely as some classics, but I found with I Saw a Starburst to Flames that they did because the words flowed beautifully from start to finish and transfixed me and my children from beginning to end and so I am already going to recommend this gem of a book! However, if you need more convincing then continue to read to learn more about this gem!

I Saw a Starburst to Flames is a collection of poems about a wide variety of mostly humorous topics! There are over 100 poems laced throughout this great book, and all of them vary in level of craziness! For example, one is about a mouse with a shocking twist! Another about the president and they also have a poem about dancing pizzas! So there is a real variety of stories listed throughout the incredible I Saw a Starburst to Flames, and I recommend all young readers have a read as it will entertain them for hours!

The poems laced throughout I Saw a Starburst to Flames are so brilliant and unique that I have not been able to stop thinking about them and I’m, an adult! As soon as I would finish one with my children, we would end up re-reading it because they wanted to immerse themselves in it again and laugh even more!

J.R. LaMar is a newly discovered poet of mine, but I wish I had discovered his work sooner because never before have I been so transfixed by poems, especially kids poems! I have read a lot of poems in my time, especially since a young age but never have I ever been so provoked by the ones in I Saw a Starburst to Flames. LaMar does this with his mesmerizing prose and well developed and structured poems. The poems truly will keep readers turning the pages from beginning to end.

Overall I Saw a Starburst to Flames is a sensational, unique, and beautiful poetry book that should not be missed, I, of course, have to award this stellar book five stars! So please, have a read of I Saw a Starburst to Flames and get lost in the captivating words of J.R. LaMar and be compelled to read from the very beginning to the very end… you will not regret it!
