RED HEADED BOOK LOVER

Gabrielle, Laura Mariani

One day, just like that, everything changed …

As Gabrielle writes in her morning pages, she is flooded with vivid memories of the past and intense responses to the present. She re-examines her choices throughout her life.

A woman among men jockeying for power, Gabrielle is direct, unshakable and has created a world for herself where she rules alone. She has fought hard for her independence. Yet, she is in search for love and longs to be a housewife and taken care of.

The relationships with the men in her life were made up, as one makes up the better part of life through thoughts and perceptions, realizations subjectively made by the drama of self-created identities.

Gabrielle had so many external selves falling from her like leaves.

But the old self reflects back in the mirror, still there, unchanged, whilst the body and life had taken yet another form.

As she stands inside the lived moment, the “continuous present” of her life keeps intruding into her thoughts on this day in London.

Time is passing by relentless.

Can someone escape their self-identity?

And then, just like that, everything changed …

A vivid portrait of one day in a woman’s life through her morning pages.

The city of London during lockdown the background.

Gabrielle is an excellent novel that is captivating, moving, and terrific all at the same time! Gabrielle astounded me from start to finish with its captivating literature courtesy of the author Laura Mariani; whose novel is full of phenomenal characterization and many moving elements laced throughout that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I adore novels like this one that focus on a strong female narrative but some can be predictable and lackluster. However, as I got lost in Gabrielle I realized it is far from this. Instead, it is a sensational, unique novel with many compelling elements laced throughout that no reader should miss! That is why I have to recommend this book already! However, if you need more convincing then continue to read to learn more!

Gabrielle is a poignant, shocking, and unforgettable novel that will take its readers on a thought-provoking and captivating journey. The reader in Gabrielle will meet the star of the novel, Gabrielle. The reader will learn all about Gabrielle and her life and how it is moving in the right direction without any hiccups. But when the pandemic hits and she is stuck in London with strict rules, her world changes forever. The reader will follow Gabrielle as she examines her past and present and it makes for a stunning read that shouldn’t be missed.

Gabrielle as a whole is an incredible novel that combines everything the reader would want and more in a story. Laura Mariani is a phenomenal writer who has written a stellar story. In Gabrielle, it was evident to me that Mariani is a passionate and invested writer, she took her time with her story, developing every plot avenue thoroughly as well as lacing her passion for the genre throughout her literature and story and it certainly came across to me.

Overall, Gabrielle is a captivating and moving novel, unlike anything I have read before, that will have you entertained, moved and so much more. That is why I, of course, have to award this book five stars!
