As I began to read For the Minds and Wills of Men I immediately knew that this was going to be a captivating novel, and now that I have finished the novel, I can happily write that the book is just this! It is an intriguing, unique, and thought-provoking story unlike anything I have read before, that captivated me and hooked me with its phenomenal literature courtesy of the excellent author Jeff Lanier. If you are a reader who loves being taken on a journey that will provoke your thoughts and move you, then you will love For the Minds and Wills of Men, so do not miss out! For the Minds and Wills of Men is an incredible book that will take the reader back in time to 1953, to Manhattan, NYC. It is here that the reader will meet art insurer, Will Oxley, who is tasked with recovering a stolen Jackson Pollock painting, but things go awry when he falls for the client’s daughter, Liz Bower.
The reader will follow Will as he becomes entangled in a love affair and thrust into a world of expressionist painters, and it is here that shocking secrets come to light. Will learns that his love Liz could be harboring communist secrets and he must decide whether to trust her or risk everything. What follows is a shocking and intriguing novel that will take you on a journey of communist espionage and this book lovers is the short premise of the wonderful For the Minds and Wills of Men!
For the Minds and Wills of Men is a stellar story that had me intrigued from the very start. I love any story with a historical theme, so I knew from the beginning that For the Minds and Wills of Men would deliver thanks to these themes, and wow did it! For the Minds and Wills of Men captured my attention immediately thanks to the fast-paced story, enigmatic characters, and thrilling plot and as I read For the Minds and Wills of Men, I was honestly in awe; it was like a present was being unwrapped before my eyes, and the more the pages turned, the more excited I got for the finale!
Jeff Lanier is a newly discovered author of mine, and I have to confess book lovers that I am kicking myself for not having found Lanier’s book sooner! I am frustrated that I have not before because it has been a long time since a historical book has captivated me this much! To write a good novel the reader needs to be fully immersed in the story and feel as if they are experiencing the same events as the protagonist and Lanier manages to accomplish this with his writing in For the Minds and Wills of Men, so Lanier is most certainly worthy of an abundance of praise!
Not only is Jeff Lanier an outstanding writer for his ability to thrust his readers into the thick of the story, but he also is because he was able to describe all of the events that unravel perfectly! Every event and moment and even place is flawlessly described with a wealth of detail which in turn keeps the reader turning the pages!
To conclude my thoughts on this wonderful novel, For the Minds and Wills of Men is a gripping novel that is guaranteed to keep readers entertained for hours on end so I, of course, have to award the story five stars! Be sure to have a read of the preview below book lovers; you will not regret it!
