Eric Folder has moved to Oregon to attend Portland State University when an automobile accident leaves him stricken with migraine headaches. The resulting visual effects—something medical professionals term an aura—render him virtually blind and defenseless when a gang of street thugs attacks him. Desperate to see and needing to protect himself, Eric reflexively tears at the luminous lines of light and finds they have become tangible. When he pulls them aside, his present reality folds away with them, leaving him in better circumstances with his enemies vanished. Folder is a novel I was desperate to read ever since discovering it and caught my attention right away thanks to its description which alludes to parallel universes and alternate realities! Now and then a reader will come across that one book that blows them away, it is a somewhat generic term, but that is what Folder did to me… it blew me away, and ever since completing it I have been thinking of its intricate and detailed story and how I need to re-read it!
That is when you know book lovers that you have come across an incredible book when you are thinking of it when you have a million things to do. That is why I am already going to recommend Folder to you lovely readers, and yes, it may be early on in my review, but Folder
is a novel not to be missed!
Folder for me was thrilling, captivating, and addictive right from the start and I felt this from beginning to end. Folder was captivating to me from the start thanks to the unique premise of the story and the bewitching literature courtesy of the author, Raymond Bolton who from the start hooked me with his unique story that was unlike anything I have read before!
Folder is a thrilling, captivating, and memorable science fiction novel that will take its readers on a journey like no other. The reader in Folder will follow the protagonist of the novel, Eric Folder. Eric’s life has drastically changed lately after a car accident that gave him a bad concussion and migraines. When Eric is attacked one day, he is defenseless after his vision becomes blurred to the point he is almost blind because of his car accident but soon Eric forces himself to see to be able to protect himself, and when he does he will soon find himself in a parallel universe. The reader will follow Eric as he goes from many alternate realities, with each one becoming more different than the last and the result is a thrilling and captivating journey like no other, and this book lovers is the short premise of the incredible Folder!
The premise of Folder is exceptional, original, and unlike anything, I have read before. I loved the many themes and elements explored throughout the book, and all themes are explored by Raymond Bolton wonderfully, and he does this by lacing these interesting themes throughout the text flawlessly and weaving them with the story. The result of this makes Folder a highly addictive and fascinating read that is never once lackluster or predictable.
Raymond Bolton is a phenomenal writer who knows how to grasp his reader’s attention from the first page. Bolton instead of writing long, drawn-out builds up which are commonly found in science fiction novels, decides to ditch this approach and thrust his reader into the heart of the story straight away so that the reader is instantly captivated and immersed.
Overall Folder is a thrilling, compelling, and thought-provoking novel that will easily entertain readers for many days and nights and so I, of course, have to award this stellar gem of a book five stars! If you are a reader who loves science fiction or even fantasy then I implore you to read Folder; it is a fast-paced, action-adventure that should not be missed so have a read of the preview below and get reading!
