It has been a long time since I have been this captivated by a fantasy story and this is thanks to the exceptional author John W. Otte and his talented literature! Drawn in Ash is an incredible novel that will introduce the reader to the protagonist of the book, Everys, an illegal mage who lives her life hiding in the capital city, running her family’s electronic repair shop. Everys lives under the thumb of The Dynasty, which many see as being all peaceful but Everys knows the truth, she knows The Dynasty is broken and that they have oppressed the people and conquered them, including her own.

So when Everys is brought to the palace and is forced to marry King Narius, she uses this as her chance to take her revenge and make things right again. After all, he is the descendant of a tyrant that destroyed her people’s homeland. What follows is a shocking and incredible journey with twists and turns you won’t see coming and this book lovers is the premise of the incredible novel!

The story of Drawn in Ash is excellent and incredibly well-developed thanks to John W. Otte, the author of the book. Otte manages to develop his world with immaculate detail; every event, character, and setting is well thought out and planned, and I was impressed by Otte’s flawless ability to do this. As I read Drawn in Ash, I immediately was drawn into the book and felt captivated by Otte’s spellbinding literature. Otte’s writing is detailed in the most immaculate of ways; the text is detailed but not too dense, and it is beautifully written so that the reader will be able to immerse themselves in the story from beginning to end without difficulty.

Not only is John W. Otte a talented author for his descriptive powers, but he is also a phenomenal writer thanks to his characterization of the protagonist of the novel Everys. Otte has essentially written a character study of Everys, and I adore this approach in literature because it makes the story even more immersive and entertaining for a reader. Being able to accompany Everys on her journey was incredible; it was remarkable to witness the journey she embarks on and her drive to put things right.

Because John W. Otte captivates his readers from the start, the reader will feel as if they are in the same situation as Everys; they too will be finding their way through the tumultuous landscape and feel the same emotions of fear and excitement just as Everys does. Drawn in Ash is a truly immersive experience and so if you adore reading novels that you can be a part of then this story is for you!

As Drawn in Ash is a dramatic, compelling, and action-packed adventure that will entertain and delight readers for hours on end, I, of course, have to review this incredible book five stars!
