A Sliver of a Chance made me fall in love with poetry all over again and I am so thankful to the author Brian Sankarsingh for this! Many poetry books can be over complicated and do not tell a concise message but A Sliver of a Chance does just this as it is a book that highlights important issues that need to be tackled. That is why I am so happy to have discovered this book and why I am so excited to share this book with you today! A Sliver of a Chance is a phenomenal collection of unique and moving poems written by Brian Sankarsingh that will take its readers on a transfixing, moving, and thought-provoking journey from start to finish. The reader in A Sliver of a Chance will be greeted with many poems that can only be described as poignant, hard-hitting, and brilliant. All of the poems I believe are unique and all explore pressing issues, the main one being systematic racism. In A Sliver of a Chance, Brian shares his beautiful poems which tackle issues surrounding racism and it makes for a powerful read that has the power to spark change and should definitely not be missed!

The poems laced throughout A Sliver of a Chance are exceptional, original, and transfixing. As I read A Sliver of a Chance, I found myself engrossed in each and every poem from beginning to end, and when I would finish reading one I would find myself reading two, even three more times! That is the power of this poetry book and it is all thanks to its raw nature, and the phenomenal words courtesy of Brian Sankarsingh.

Brian Sankarsingh is a newly discovered poet of mine, and I already know great things are ahead of him thanks to his words in A Sliver of a Chance! I am so thrilled to have found Sankarsingh’s work and I hope he continues to write as his work really is that great! This is a testament too to how wonderful his book is, it transfixed and hooked me and I am already excited for what else Sankarsingh may write in the future, I sure am hoping he does continue to write!

To conclude my thoughts on the incredible A Sliver of a Chance, I would say this collection of poems is essential, powerful, mesmerizing!
