Ying Qian’s story is one of the most shocking but poignant stories I have ever read. Qian’s journey is upsetting at points, and although the events throughout this book are hard-hitting, the primary feeling associated with this book is inspiration, as Qian is brave to share her story and be open and honest about all she felt along the way. It takes a lot for a person to be this open and honest and so I admire that about Qian.
