Amethyst Drake managed to incorporate many unexpected twists effortlessly so that the readers will turn the page with haste! As I read this book, I found myself re-reading parts because of how shocking it was! It was magnificent to feel this, and I love it when an author does this to a reader, this is how reading should be! Full of shocks and surprises and great thrilling moments that you will remember for a long time; if not forever!

Amethyst Drake is a brilliant writer who has written a fantastic story and come up with a brilliant plot. Drake from the very start sets the tone of the novel; she lets her readers know that this is going to be a dark and atmospheric book thanks to her literature and wow was it! Drake is exceptional because she grabs her reader’s attention from the start very quickly and keeps them engrossed until the end. There are no long build-ups that drag in The Scheme; instead, the reader will be thrown into the thick of the story quickly, and the result of this is exciting (and slightly terrifying!).

Amethyst Drake is a talented author; there is no question about this. Drake’s writing keeps the reader on the edge of their seat; her suspense-filled book reminds me of a good thriller movie; there is a constant feeling of trepidation and a continuous sense of “what is going to happen next?!” as I read this book. I was enthralled because this is how thriller and mystery and suspense books should be!

To conclude my thoughts on this exceptional story, I would say if you have been bored of late of books that don’t thrill you, then take a chance with this one because it is an all-consuming assault of brilliance that will keep you entertained from the beginning to end!
