Hard Dog’s Night is the sensational follow-up novel to Hound Dogged written by the superb author Rebecca Hendricks and is a book that has captivated me and made me fall in love just like the first book did! I admit that I was hooked on this book before I even started to read it; after all, I loved the first book and was excited to read what happens next. I can happily write too that Hard Dog’s Night captivated me just as quickly as the first book and made me invest in the story again with ease!
In Hard Dog’s Night, the reader will be reunited with the characters we have come to love in the first book Hound Dogged. Here is a snippet from my first review which introduces you to the premise of the story!
The reader will be introduced to five friends – Patrick, Jerry, Stu, John, and Danny who form the band The Hound Dog and embark on a journey through music and friendship. Combining both, however, is not always easy and the band finds themselves tested while doubts arise and ambitions stir and they begin to question each other’s motives. It makes for a thrilling and thought-provoking tale that will see the reader witness how this group of friends navigate this time in their lives and see if they overcome their hardships.
In book two the reader will follow The Hound Dogs as they search for a drummer to complete their band but with this comes an outcome they didn’t expect and the reader will be taken on a journey which will have you on edge, wondering what is going to happen to the beloved band and this book lovers is the short premise of book two Hard Dog’s Night!
The story of Hard Dog’s Night is an incredibly entertaining one with many profound but also entertaining themes laced throughout the book. Many books of this nature can be cliché and predictable but Hard Dog’s Night is definitely not this! As Hard Dog’s Night is a captivating, unique novel full of powerful themes that are all excellently explored and weaved well together by the phenomenal author Rebecca Hendricks who is an incredibly well-accomplished author.
Rebecca Hendricks is an incredible author who has managed to transfix and entertain me with her beautiful literature. I am impressed by the amount of depth Hendricks has managed to lace throughout her book; Hendricks ensures throughout her book that her readers are entertained and thrilled from beginning to end, and Hendricks does this by weaving twists and turns throughout her book which yes, are incredibly entertaining! As well as this, Hendricks flawlessly weaves brilliant characterization and development of her characters that will keep the readers turning the pages from beginning to end.
Overall Hard Dog’s Night is an extraordinary piece of literature that will entertain and thrill readers from beginning to end so I, of course, have to award the book five stars! It would be criminal not to. So please book lovers, have a read of this excellent book and get lost in an engrossing, captivating story… you will not regret it!
