Maggie’s dream of opening up a bookstore in the heart of New York City has become a thriving reality. In a world where physical books are becoming obsolete because of electronic books, Maggie has created a haven that captures customers’ hearts and keeps them coming back for more.
One of those customers, Braxton Henley, is slowly trying to win Maggie’s heart. After suffering heartbreak in her past, she has a hard time collapsing the walls around her heart to allow Braxton in, but she’s determined to allow herself to love and be loved.
When a mysterious package with no return address is delivered containing an original, first edition copy of her favorite childhood book, Treasure Island, Maggie is in awe. Setting out on a journey, Maggie and Braxton try to discover the book’s original whereabouts and find out about the sender of such a lavish gift. When a link to her past is revealed through the book, Maggie finds herself questioning everything.

Where Wisteria Grows has to be one of the most beautiful, inspiring and lovely books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. E.S. Holmes is the author of Where Wisteria Grows, and I have to confess now that I am obsessed with her literature and how mesmerizing her words are! When I read the description of the book, I was instantly hooked because the description alludes to many themes and I adore books that combine themes…well, only if they are done so correctly! As I have now finished reading Where Wisteria Grows I can happily write that Holmes definitely weaves her themes together beautifully and has also written an incredible story that will capture readers and steal their hearts!

Where Wisteria Grows follows the sweet protagonist of the novel called Maggie. Maggie is a character who the reader will instantly like thanks to her likable personality and her love of books! Yes, Maggie like us book lovers is obsessed with books, so much so that she dreamed from a young age that she would open a bookstore in the heart of New York City and one day this dream of hers becomes a reality and she could not be happier.

Maggie’s bookstore is booming, and this is thanks to book lovers who adore physical books as opposed to electronic ones and one of the customers who adore the store is a lovely man called Braxton Henley. Braxton, however, loves more than just the bookstore, he instead likes Maggie, and he wants to be with her…badly! Maggie and Braxton will soon grow closer to each other, but Maggie has been hurt before however, she decides to open up her heart and the result is beautiful. You may be thinking at this point “ok, this sounds like a cliché romance,” but please know book lovers that Where Wisteria Grows is far from this. Instead, it is a novel that combines romance with mystery, and I will explain why. One day while at the book story, Maggie receives a package which contains the first edition of her favorite childhood book called Treasure Island. Maggie and Braxton are curious about who sent Maggie the book, and so Maggie and Braxton will go on a journey of discovery and what follows is an entertaining story that will entertain and thrill its readers.

The story of Where Wisteria Grows is energetic, it is energetic because the plot moves at a fast pace thanks to the incredible characters that propel the story forward and the well-developed plot. The story charmed me from the beginning, I mean, how could it not! The novel features a love of books so this alone hooked me but what also hooked me was the numerous themes explored in Where Wisteria Grows. Themes such as faith, mystery, suspense, and romance are all explored throughout the book and the superb author E.S. Holmes flawlessly weaves and combines these themes, never overloading the reader with too much. Instead, she is incredible with weaving them so that the reader will be entertained for many hours.

E.S. Holmes is not only a brilliant author for weaving themes but she is also a talent for her beautiful literature that is full of many mesmerizing and inspiring passages. As I read the book, I felt a pure sense of enjoyment and felt charmed by Holmes literature, this is because her text is easy to read and full of heartwarming moments. However, Where Wisteria Grows also laces thrilling moments in the book, moments that surround the mystery at the heart of the story and this kept me turning the pages for hours on end.

As Where Wisteria Grows is a beautifully written and executed book that will delight and charm readers I, of course, have to award the wonderful book five stars! Please do read this book as it is truly lovely and keep an eye out for the sequel which will be released (I believe) later on this year!
