RED HEADED BOOK LOVER

Welcome To Parkview, Brian Paone

Horror & Occult, Literature & Fiction, Supernatural & Paranormal, Thriller & Psychological Thriller

“Welcome To Parkview” reads the rusted sign along the outskirts of town. The tarnishing letters seem inviting, yet foreboding and mysterious. Is passing through such a wise idea?

The final destination may be more dangerous than the trip itself—an unapologetic journey through a town that thrives on sex, violence, and the macabre. A place built on deceit and temptation. A spot forever cursed with soulless transients, unforgiving lovers, and merciless vampires who hide in the shadows beyond.

The facade is peeled back just enough for you to see past its surface. There’s but a glimpse of the darkness that put Parkview on the map. Then you realize that nothing here is a coincidence. In Parkview, it may be best to keep buried secrets quiet.

In Parkview, even truth can be a deception.

A short while ago I read and reviewed a biography/memoir written by Brian Paone titled Dreams Are Unfinished Thoughts. The book was incredible as well as heart-wrenching but mostly inspirational and enlightening, and because it was so, I awarded it five stars. Upon finishing, Dreams Are Unfinished Thoughts I instantly got started on another book written by the author and I admit, I was excited to do so because I have become addicted to Paone’s literature! Welcome To Parkview is one of Paone’s novels and you may be thinking a novel? Yes book lovers, although Paone has written a nonfiction book which was Dreams Are Unfinished Thoughts, he is primarily a fiction writer so you can imagine my excitement when I started to read Welcome To Parkview! I was excited to read a fiction book from Paone and whether he would succeed and now that I have finished the novel I can happily write that Paone has done it again! He has managed to write a sensational and captivating book, one that all readers should read!

Welcome To Parkview can only be described as a twisty-turny horror novel with razor-sharp narrative and a thrilling story. The reader will be taken to Parkview, a somewhat desolate, mysterious and unusual town that ‘thrives on sex, violence, and the macabre.’ The reader will be given a grand tour of the town but what they encounter will terrify as well as shock them because in Parkview there is a monster and these monsters are waiting in the shadows. The story that unravels is a thrilling, engulfing story that should not be missed and this book lovers is the premise of the sensational novel.

The story of Welcome To Parkview is one that is too brilliant to be spoiled and this is thanks to the shock factor of the story. The description of the book itself does not give much away about the plot, so I did not want to either… besides, I love getting lost in a book that is mysterious, I love being taken on an unpredictable adventure and Welcome To Parkview is most certainly this! As I began to read Welcome To Parkview I was instantly intrigued and lost in the world Brian Paone had created. The atmospheric writing courtesy of Paone was chilling but enticing at the same time and although at times I was scared to turn the pages, thanks to the pent-up tension, I was hooked and this is thanks to Paone and his phenomenal writing.

The writing courtesy of Brian Paone is equally as excellent as his well-developed story. I have to admit that I am incredibly impressed by Paone’s ability to jump from one genre to the next; this is difficult for any writer and some well known accomplished authors have not been able to succeed. Paone, however, has managed to do just that with Welcome To Parkview because he has proven with the novel that he can write nonfiction as well as fiction and succeed at it and so I am incredibly impressed with Paone.

As Welcome to Parkview is sensational, sometimes haunting, and a thrilling novel that should not be missed I, of course, have to award this stellar read five stars! If you are looking to get lost in a unique horror story that will terrify as well as enthrall you at the same time then Welcome to Parkview is the dream read for you so do not miss out!

Can’t wait to read your review of Brian’s “Yours Truly, 2095,” the book that started me on my current trajectory.

Thank you so much for the amazing review and kind words! It’s reactions like this to my novels that always make me so appreciative. here’s a short anecdote about the writing of Welcome to Parkview: It was 1991. I was on a Billy Joel kick and was overdosing on his iconic hit, “Piano Man.” To the point where I was listening to just that song upward of ten times a day; just obsessing over the lyrics and the characters he sings about. I had been writing short stories for three years at this point (not a single one having anything… Read more »
