Trees of Stone, Sean Mooney

Fantasy, Literature & Fiction, Middle Grade Fiction, Teen & Young Adult

Mystery surrounds the theft of the Athis Statue, an ancient and powerful artifact, and through lies, amnesia, monster, and magic the fate of all is in the hands of a young mage and an elf who must stop fighting between themselves in order to see the forest for the trees.

A short while ago I read and reviewed an incredible book called Lost and Found, Lost and Found is written by the exceptional author Sean Mooney and it is a collection of short stories that are all thought-provoking and entertaining. I loved the collection of short stories, and so I awarded the book five stars. Of course, because I loved the book so much it is only fitting that I read and review Sean Mooney’s full-length novel called Trees of Stone! Trees of Stone is a magnificent story full of fantastical creatures/beings and epic moments that will leave its readers breathless. If you are a reader, who like me adores being taken on a fantasy journey which involves twists and turns galore that holds a mystery at the heart of the story then Trees of Stone is for you and not to be missed.

Trees of Stone is a remarkable fantasy tale that will take the reader on a journey across a fantasy land beyond your wildest imaginations. Granted, the reader will witness elves and many other creatures we know of but there is a lot in this book that is unlike anything you have read before. For example, the reader will witness ‘the theft of the Athis Statue, an ancient and powerful artifact.’ With the theft of the artifact, chaos will be unleashed, and the reader will be taken on a journey through magic, secrets, and adventure which will introduce the reader to elves, mages, and even monsters. The journey is a treachours one, one full of many unexpected surprises and the result is a fantastic tale that you will not be able to forget for a long time.

The story of Trees of Stone is a brilliant one that will entertain readers of all ages. Technically Trees of Stone is a novel aimed at young adults/readers but I am an adult, and I enjoyed it immensely so I believe readers of all ages will adore the book. The journey that unfolds is brilliant and well thought out, the beautiful descriptions combined with the heart-pounding moments make Trees of Stone an incredibly fun read that you is memorable. I loved reading Trees of Stone and so when I had to put it down I longed for it which is when a reader knows a book is wonderfully great! Trees of Stone truly is, and this is thanks to the talented author Sean Mooney.

Sean Mooney is an author I am impressed with for many reasons, but one of the reasons I am impressed is because of his versatility as an author. Lost and Found is a very different book from Trees of Stone, the genres are completely different, so I am impressed by how Mooney decided to write a fantasy tale and impressed how he pulled it off! It is hard for a lot of authors to switch from one genre to the next but Mooney has seemed to have mastered it and so it is safe to say I love his work and admire him as an author.

Not only is Mooney an excellent, creative writer but he is also a descriptive one. The descriptions laced throughout the book are magnificent and the descriptions of the monsters, in particular, were exceptional because I have never read descriptions like the ones I read in the book. As Trees of Stone is an excellent tale that will thrill, astound and entertain you I of course have to award the sensational book five stars!

Thank you. Being a self publisher I am without the resources to fully and effectively promote my work and blogs/review sites like this one help tremendously. Trees of Stone is a story that I spent about ten years working on (off and on) and I am very proud of the end result. An epic adventure to catch a thief and save the world – filled with magic, mystery, and malevolence.
