The Witch And The Watcher, Phil Price

Horror & Occult, Supernatural & Paranormal

In a far-away place, two lost souls are being hunted. A witch wants their heads, sending a gang of marauders after them.

Others want them too. An ancient evil, hell-bent on revenge, wants to claim them for his own.

Meanwhile, a mother and son are coming to terms with the death of their loved ones. Soon after, the boy starts to dream of distant souls who need help.

Can he help them find a way home before they are lost to the darkness… and manage to evade the evil that plagues his family?

The Witch And The Watcher is the third book in The Forsaken Series written by the incredibly talented author, Phil Price. Price is an author whose work I have grown to love over the last few weeks, I first read the first book in the series named Unknown and well, from then I was hooked! Price has an exceptional ability to hook his readers from the first page, and he managed to do this with Unknown and The Turning which is the second book in the series. Upon finishing The Turning, I was desperate to get my hands on the newest release in the series and when I did start reading The Witch And The Watcher I could not put it down! I was already addicted before I even started reading it because I so desperately wanted to know where the story would lead and what Price would do. Now that  I have finished the book I can honestly write that The Witch And The Watcher shocked me from beginning to end and never did I once expect where the plot would lead and that is the sheer brilliance of Price’s literature!

The Witch And The Watcher will take its readers back to the haunting, supernatural world that the reader has experienced in both Unknown and The Turning. Once again the reader will be reunited with the protagonist of the novel, Jake Stevenson, however, the reader will be introduced to new characters who have perfectly joined the franchise so the reader will get to witness Jake’s ongoing story while he also becomes entangled in a new, thrilling story. The reader will be introduced to a mother called Vicky and her son named Jasper, Vicky and Jasper have a tragic story because they have lost their father but a white witch called Alana tries to help Jasper and Vicky but there is much more to the story than just this. The premise of the book is just this, however, there is so much more to the story but it is so deliciously good that I can’t spoil it! But please know book lovers that the tale that unravels will thrill, excite and terrify you and so it is not to be missed.

Once again Phil Price has managed to develop an exceptional story that once again expands on an already well-established world. I adore how in The Witch And The Watcher the reader will be reunited with more characters and will follow a different plot line while also being reunited with the star of the series. I believe this was a smart move from Price because he knows that to keep a series going and for it to be entertaining, you need to introduce new characters, plot avenues, and even places so I am impressed with Price’s decision to do just this. As well as Price introducing new characters and plot avenues, he has also managed to continually keep his reader excited, and he does this thanks to the shocking nature of the book. The events that unfold within The Witch And The Watcher are entirely thought out and wonderfully weaved into the story so that the reader will feel the need to read from beginning to end.

Phil Price is an author who has consistently impressed me for the reasons I have written above but he has also impressed me because of his development of literature. I have read each book in The Forsaken Series and I have noticed with each book that Price’s literature has developed further, he has managed to expand on his work as well as introduce new plot devices which excite and thrill the reader. The fact that Price is an author who has developed so much and improved with each book shows us, readers, that he is a true wordsmith.

As The Witch And The Watcher is another sensational book from Phil Price I, of course, have to award the book, just like the other two five stars because it is remarkable! If you are a reader looking to get lost in a new supernatural series then read The Forsaken Series because you will not regret it!
