He Planned For A Simple Life, Until The War Began

Samuel Cardiff had a plan. He had recently graduated from the Teachers College and now he was returning home. The first goal completed, his next step was to find a position and then he could get married.

He Was a Christian Pacifist With Little Care For The Outside World

Samuel was a quiet man, some would say a pacifist. He believed in God, family and education. He was not concerned with the happenings outside his home town.

When His Country Fell Into Civil War He Was Forced To Question His Most Core Beliefs

Outside events, however, were about to drag him from his beloved Elmira. It was the spring of 1861 and Confederate forces had recently attacked Fort Sumter. Against every moral belief, he enlisted in the Union Army and with his first step toward the south, he changed his life forever.

A couple of months ago I read and reviewed an exceptional book called Shadow of the Moon written by the talented and well-accomplished author, Kwen D. Griffeth. Upon finishing the incredible fantasy novel, I instantly wanted more from the author, and that brings us to the book I am reviewing today, The Law of Moses and wow, what a stellar novel!

The Law of Moses is a poignant, incredible, moving piece of literature that will consume its readers and keep them captivated to read until the very end. Everything about this book was exceptional; the flawless writing, combined with the story and then the historical context, was utterly brilliant and that is why The Law of Moses is one of the best civil war/western novels written. It is a book that will read like a movie for its readers as well as keep them entertained from beginning to end so book lovers, please read this excellent book to get lost in its magnificent story!

The Law of Moses will introduce the reader to the protagonist of the novel Samuel Cardiff who at the start of the book had a plan set for his near future. Samuel had just recently graduated from the Teachers College, and he was excited to return to his home so he could find a job as well as eventually get married. Samuel is a fascinating character who is a ‘Christian Pacifist’ who believes in God, family, and education and is not concerned with what happens outside of his quaint home town. However, when the beginnings of the Civil War start Samuel’s morals and beliefs will be challenged, and he will soon find himself enlisting in the Union Army. What follows is a thrilling and captivating tale that should not be missed!

The story of The Law of Moses was one that I loved from start to finish. What I found most impressive about The Law of Moses was the author’s ability to hook his reader quickly and keep them captivated until the very end. The Law of Moses is most certainly a fast-paced novel, and I love this approach in literature! I love when an author decides to take the fast approach because it ensures the reader will never be bored and will always be entertained.

The Law of Moses is a story I would define as the perfect western/civil war novel and a classic western tale. I love western novels and movies and speaking of movies… why is The Law of Moses not one or at least a tv series?! The book has the perfect components of a story adapted for the screen, and I believe this because the book has a steady, streamlined plot, enthralling characters with perfect narration and dramatic breathe-taking moments that will move its readers on more way than one occasion.

Kwen D. Griffeth is an author whose literature I admire, one quality I admire about Griffeth is the fact that he is brazen with his writing. A lot of authors shy away from the themes explored in The Law of Moses, and if they do they usually tone it down, but I love how Griffeth said no screw that! I will write my book how I wish, and that is a quality I admire so much. This shows us readers that Griffeth is a risk taker and an author who is prepared to take risks for the pleasure and entertainment of his readers; this is a quality I admire in an author, so it is safe to say that Griffeth will always have a reader in me now!

Griffeth is a well-accomplished author who has a great skill at placing the reader in the midst of the action. He perfectly set up the scene of the book so that I could easily find my way inside the story, as well as this he has managed to develop some flawless characters.

Overall The Law of Moses is a superb, addictive and thrilling book that will keep readers on the edge of their seat I, of course, have to award the story a magnificent five stars!
