Aimee Ann contacted me about writing a review of my memoir, “Nowhere Else I Want to Be,” and I must admit I almost deleted the email. An author tends to develop a suspicious attitude toward unsolicited offers. I’m so glad I decided against deleting and instead followed the link provided to the Red Headed Book Lover Blog. Having studied the website and checked carefully through the reviews and testimonials, I decided to take a chance.
The first thing that impressed me was how prompt were her replies to my emails. This continued throughout our work together. And I grew to appreciate this professional care especially because it was suffused with energy and good will. And as a former nonprofit business owner myself, I’m particularly impressed that all the proceeds from reviews go to help wounded warriors. There’s a real sense of mission and purpose that made me want to participate. The wonderful thing is, she then produced a wonderful review.
Sometimes a review is so shallow you feel as though a reviewer has barely read the book. Not so with Aimee Ann. She had clearly done a thorough reading, taking in the themes and, most important, the heart of my book. Her review dug deep and expressed so well the emotion and purpose of the memoir. I recommend Aimee Ann to any author.
