Maezy is no sleeping beauty.
She prefers her sword to magic, is more comfortable chopping off limbs than kissing lips, and she can visit people in her sleep. However, life isn’t a complete realm walk for a hybrid like Maezy. She has a gift anyone might kill for, and she’s trained her whole life to deal with that eventuality.
There should always be a Plan C.
Her father, the Elf King, has sent an army to kidnap her. He wants to use her talent to take over all the realms, but Maezy isn’t ready to comply with his wishes. In fact, hoping to stop the onslaught, she’s agreed to her mother’s plan.
Sorcerer versus Hybrid.
The handsome associate her father has bribed into helping him has some superior warlock powers. Brandalfr’s a hybrid as well, and he knows how Maezy feels. He’s the only one, though, who can help. With so much at stake, will he be willing to assist her?
They’re in this together.
Now Maezy must use more than her sword to beat her father and hold his hot, irritating, hybrid warlock at arm’s length. After all, her mother always taught her to never trust an elf.
Realm Walk is undeniably a must read and a novel that I was desperate to read ever since discovering it. Firstly, the cover of the book is stunning but what really attracted me was the phenomenal description which alluded to themes of fantasy and even legends and fairy tales and when I read the word Elf I was hooked. Realm Walk is the perfect example of why I love fantasy novels and it is undeniably one of the best I have ever read. Good fantasy novels need a few things, one being the ability to thrill and slightly terrify you yet leave you wanting more which I must add is incredibly hard to accomplish! Rebecca Reddell, however, achieves this and does so in a way that will have you looking for more and left wanting more after every turn of the page. Realm Walk is more than just a fantasy story book lovers, it instead is so much more and delves into a magnitude of poignancy which is rarely come across in fantasy novels. Realm Walk captivated all of my attention from the premise alone, and when I got past the first chapter I was left hooked and wanting more and read and finished the book in record time! I am still not sure how Reddell was able to do this, it must be a combination of her phenomenal literature, brilliant characterization and spine-tingly great moments, but I must say, I can’t get enough of this world she brilliantly put together and am so excited to read what she writes next!
Realm Walk is an incredible novel that could be defined as a fairy tale but although it has some fairy tales themes and is in part a reimagining, there is so much more to this book and the story is exceptional and will leave you breathless at the end of each chapter. Realm Walk will introduce the reader to the protagonist of the novel, Maezy who lives in a fantasy realm and is a hybrid. I do not want to delve into what this exactly means but let me just say that her being a hybrid makes her very special with incredible abilities that people would kill for… including her father. Maezy’s father is the Elf King, and he wants her so that he can use her unique abilities to take over the realms. Her father, determined to use her for his own gain, sends an Army to fetch her include his very ‘handsome associate’ who has warlock powers and also is a hybrid. When the associate and Maezy meet they instantly feel a connection thanks to them being both hybrids and so they team up to defeat her father and this book lovers is the premise of the sensational Realm Walk.
Realm Walk effortlessly captures the true essence of fantasy and has a classic feel to it that reminds me of classics, however, it is a classic story with an entertaining twist and will captivate readers for hours. I love how fluidly the storyline and character development are unveiled and they are unveiled at the perfect pace. Realm Walk kept me on the edge of my seat needing more; I found I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and that is a sure sign that the author Rebecca Reddell is incredibly talented! It is no small task to captivate a reader so wholeheartedly, yet Reddell does so with ease in Realm Walk.
Reading Realm Walk you can feel Rebecca Reddell’s pursuit of literary perfection. Her riveting reconstruction of a classic tale keeps the pages turning of their own accord. Reddell seamlessly breathes new life into a story we all know and love. She immediately immerses the reader in her world of fantasy through her fast-paced writing style, beautifully detailed descriptions, and flawless character integration. Reddell has an unrivaled ability to grip any reader from the first page through to the end.
Realm Walk sends you into a tailspin of a journey packed full of exciting twists and turns that leave you both guessing and wanting more.
