Quantum Roots, Kyle Keyes

Action & Adventure, Humor & Satire, Mystery & Suspense, Science Fiction & Space Opera

Jesse Joe Jacks was born sometime during the snow blizzard of 1923. The Lower Elk County, game warden died from a lightning strike on July 23, 1959, while wearing a sheriff’s star.
Olan Chapman came to life in August of 1974 and found a
computer career with a center city, electronics firm. Chapman drinks heavy and is haunted by flashbacks of an older sister, lost to an unsolved case of gang rape and murder. Jacks loved nature and lived to protect wildlife. He stood tall and fought to uphold justice. Jacks was also a crack shot with a firearm – any firearm. Chapman attends the theatre, plays piano and at one time led a march against the National Rifle Association.
Both men have the same fingerprints.

Quantum Roots is the third book I have read by Kyle Keyes and wow, has Keyes done it again! Quantum Roots is a unique book that is very different from Keye’s previous two books which are called The Pandarus Files and Martin Swan’s Diary. Both of these books have a strong mystery theme, and although Quantum Roots has this too, it can also be defined as science fiction thanks to the heavy science fiction theme that I can’t spoil (but only allude to!). Kyle Keyes is an author whose work I have grown to love and ever since discovering Quantum Roots I was keen to read it especially since it features a new genre so I was excited to see how Keyes would write a different genre.

Every now and then a reader will come across that one book that blows them away, it is a somewhat generic term, but that is what Quantum Roots did to me… it blew me away and ever since completing it I have been thinking of its intricate and detailed story and how I need to re-read it! That is when you know book lovers that you have come across an incredible book when you are thinking of it when you have a million things to do. That is why I am already going to recommend Quantum Roots n to you lovely readers, and yes, it may be early on in my review, but Quantum Roots is a novel not to be missed.

Quantum Roots is a multi-layered book which has an in-depth plot which if you do not follow closely could become confusing but the book is so well written that you will want to invest fully; therefore, you will never lose track! I do not want to spoil much of the book, however, I will write that the reader will be introduced to the two protagonists of the story, Jesse Joe Jacks, and Olan Chapman. Are these two connected? Well, not at first but their lives do become intertwined. Without giving too much away, Jesse died by a lightning strike in 1959 and Olan is alive and well and has a great career. However, they both share the same fingerprints… I know, spooky right? How can that be, after all, fingerprints are unique, and no two are the same. What follows after this is an intriguing mystery involving quantum physics in which time is not we understand, and this book lovers is the premise of Quantum Roots.

The story of Quantum Roots is just as incredible as Kyle Keyes’s previous two books, all of the books are sensational because they both explore original themes that captivate and intrigue the reader from the start. Quantum Roots n just like The Pandarus File is an in-depth novel with many plot avenues, scenarios and characters, however never once do all of these factors become too much for the reader; instead, every element is weaved flawlessly together by the phenomenal author Kyle Keyes. Keyes, despite his expansive story that continues to expand as you read, keeps track of the plot and never loses sight of the end goal… in other words, you won’t find the plot too chaotic! That is because Keyes has written a book that has a steady, streamlined, well thought out plot that will entertain you lovely readers for hours on end.

Kyle Keyes is an author whose work I have grown to love, ever since finishing his other two books I have been hooked by his literature because it is original and in-depth and takes the readers on an unforgettable journey. Keyes writes his story in a descriptive, fluid, and captivating way that ensures that the reader is entertained from beginning to end as well as enthralled and amazed.

Overall Quantum Roots is a thrilling, compelling and thought-provoking novel that will easily entertain readers for many days and nights and so, I, of course, have to award this stellar gem of a book five stars!
