Thorik has caused the death of the legendary Mountain King, releasing a rift forward through time that will change history forever. With the King dead, the war to free the slaves from the Notarian rulers will never take place, preventing the Dovenar Kingdom from ever existing. Without the strength of the Dovenar Kingdom, the Altered Creatures will most likely become masters of the civilized species. Leading them, the demon Ergrauth will finally be able to eliminate all species that do not obey him. Thorik had been warned by the E’rudites that his actions would cause such a historical change, which evolved into the destruction of civilization. Against Avanda’s loving pleas, it is up to him to resolve this mistake even at the expense of his own life.
Plea of Avanda is book six and the final book in the Altered Creatures series, and it was intense book lovers! As you lovely readers know you know that I have been obsessed with the Altered Creatures series and have been engrossed from book one to now book six thanks to the author’s exceptional literature and phenomenally crafted story. When I started to read Plea of Avanda I admit that a part of me was hesitant and this is because I did not want the series to end! We have all been there book lovers when our favorite series is concluding, and we want answers, but we also want the story to not finish, it can be torture, and that is why I was slightly hesitant. The fact that I wished the series would not end shows you that the Altered Creatures series really is a brilliant series to invest in and a series to recommend. I personally loved every single book and would recommend the series as a whole. If you are interested in starting the series then be sure to type Fate of Thorik on Amazon, and the book in the U.S. is free, so please do get started! However if you need me to convince you what a sensational series this is then continue to read to learn more!
Plea of Avanda once again reunites the reader with the protagonist of the story, Thorik. Thorik is an incredible character, but he is not without flaws, in fact as the series developed we witness Thorik with not one flaw to having many! In Plea of Avanda the reader will witness his faults as well as gain more insight into his character and his decisions. Plea of Avanda is a conclusion of all the events that have previously been unresolved and so the reader will be made aware of the one big event which is the death of the Mountain King which was caused by Thorik and the ‘rift through time that’ changed history forever. The rift this has created is massive and has enormous repercussions and the novel explores what these repercussions are while tying up loose ends in the story. The result is a shocking, emotional and thrilling journey that every reader should have the pleasure of reading.
The story courtesy of Anthony G. Wedgeworth is once again fast-paced and entertaining. The world Wedgeworth has managed to develop over the last six books is astounding, and every author could take note of his ability to craft a well-developed and believable world. The world development was so incredible that I found myself wanting to immerse myself in it even more and I did this by re-reading certain descriptive passages so a visual image could come alive in my mind and I admit book lovers that this was amazing! If you are a reader who likes to visualize a story develop then Plea of Avanda and the previous five books are for you because each scene is excellently described and will play out in your mind like a movie.
When I got halfway through Plea of Avanda a part of me was shocked by the darkness. As the series has progressed, I had noticed that they gradually got darker (which I loved!) and this one is definitely one of the darkest. The battle scenes alone were masterful and had me turning the pages frantically, and this is thanks to how vividly described they were and how well crafted the story was.
Thorik Dain is an incredible character, and because of his flaws, he is easily likable and relatable. I love characters where I can relate to them and invest in their story, and Thorik is that character. The journey Thorik has been on is definitely a tumultuous one but I love that, I love the many events he has encountered and how he has grown from a boy to a man. It is rare to come across a book series that is dedicated to and follows the main character for three books let alone six! So I was thrilled with this series, to say the least.
To conclude my thoughts on Plea of Avanda and the Altered Creatures series as a whole, I would say if you are a reader who loves fantasy, loves relatable characters and investing in a journey then Plea of Avanda is for you as well as the entire Altered Creatures series! Plea of Avanda is, of course, going to get five stars from me so please, do have a read of the book and get lost in a sensational series… you will not regret it!
