The memoir chronicles my diagnosis of epilepsy at the age of 16 after a tumultuous move from Yonkers, New York to Hollywood, Florida in 1977. It is not a book about epilepsy, however. It is a book about overcoming adversity.
My best advice is to push forward and write your story regardless of the opinion of others. Believe in yourself and be true to your passion.
If someone can read your book and either escape from reality for a while or learn something from you, then your book has done its job.
I have several new books out. Highly Effective Teaching Strategies: Winning in the Classroom, and I co-authored a very impactful memoir entitled A Journey To Recovery: Speak Sobriety. This is Stephen Hill’s story of overcoming opioid addiction.
