Action & Adventure, Children & Picture Book, Dystopian & Post Apocalyptic, Fantasy, Literature & Fiction, Middle Grade Fiction, Myth's & Legends, Teen & Young Adult

In a world where sorcery is feared, Princess Martina conceals her paranormal powers, especially when her brother is against her. Finding a true friend in the peasant boy Enzo, her secret seems safe. But when tragedy strikes the royal palace, Martina’s careful world is torn to pieces. Brother and sister find themselves on an epic magical quest to save the kingdom from war and famine, vicious mythical beasts, and a tyrannical king. But Prince Drago has secrets of his own, and a heart of wickedness that no amount of good magic can brighten.

Dark days cloud Brightalia, and only one last hope remains before total devastation. Can Martina be a hero and defeat the evil that lurks throughout her land? Or are the days of her beloved kingdom over forever?

Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand is an exceptional fantasy novel that astounded me thanks to its glorious descriptions, epic story, and phenomenal characterization. Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand has to be one of the most epic fantasy novels I have ever had the pleasure of reading and although Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand is a middle grade/young adult novel, it is still highly enjoyable and can be read and enjoyed by adults. When I read Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand I read it from a mothers perspective and wanted to read whether it would be suitable for children, whether it had poignant messages and so on, however, when I read the book I found myself enjoying it as an adult and reading it for myself! And that in itself speaks volumes about how enjoyable Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand is and how it really can be read by anybody who loves fantasy.

Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand follows the young protagonist of the novel called Martina. Martina is a Princess and she is hiding a secret, the secret is is that she has powers and although this is nothing to be ashamed of, it is something she has to be careful of sharing because sorcery in her world is frowned upon and even feared. Martina’s brother only complicates matters because he is against her. Martina has virtually nobody, but then one day she meets a boy called Enzo who is a poor child but together they get on perfectly because she knows that he will keep her secret safe. All seems to be well in the land but soon tragedy strikes and Martina and her brother will find themselves on a quest to save the Kingdom. What follows is an action-packed adventure that is guaranteed to keep readers turning the pages with haste so do not miss out book lovers!

The story of Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand is an incredible one that weaves adventure with moving themes. Throughout the book, the exceptionally talented author Jessica D’Agostini will lace important life lessons and poignant themes throughout her story such as loneliness and friendship. Whenever I read a book aimed at children, I am always on the lookout for the themes explored and whether they are great themes for young readers and the themes explored in Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand really are wonderful. I adore how D’Agostini has laced these themes throughout her story and through the vessel of her story – Martina – because young readers will pick up on these themes and hopefully start to use them in their everyday life and become aware of them.

The premise of Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand is exciting, and I am incredibly impressed by the excellent author’s expansion of the realm she had so flawlessly developed. The land the reader encounters is vast, and when I thought that it could not be expanded on anymore it was, and this is thanks to D’Agostini’s incredible literature. The scope of the story D’Agostini has created is excellent and grows bigger and bigger thanks to the inclusion of characters, events and battles that need to be fought and magical powers to control and harness.

Jessica D’Agostini is an exceptional author thanks to her impeccably well-developed story, but she is also an excellent writer thanks to the themes she explores throughout her novel as well as her glorious descriptions. The descriptions courtesy of D’Agostini will dazzle and captivate young minds… so much so that your children will want to re-read the book!

Overall Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand is an exceptional novel that will quite simply blow you away and so I have no choice but to award this stunning book five stars! So please book lovers, have a read of Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand, you will not regret it!

Thank you so much for the kind review!
When I wrote Magical Eyes, I wanted a story that not only entertained young readers with adventure, magic and a dose of danger but also added a lovely spin of wonderful life lessons about family values, friendship, and courage. I wanted a story that will inspire kids to be the best that they can be.
I hope that you enjoy my fantasy novel, Magical Eyes: Dawn of the Sand.
