Love Struck, P.M. Thomas

Contemporary Fiction, Literature & Fiction, Romance

When Paulo and his girlfriend Gloria left to spend a romantic summer break on a beautiful island resort, they expected it to be a love-filled time just between the two of them, but nothing ever goes as planned.

When a cruise carrying European superstar Sara Sarracini, a woman Paulo deeply adores and secretly loves, arrives on the island for a vacation to celebrate her return to cinema after a ten-year retirement, nothing will be the same again as she comes between them.

Through betrayed heartbreak, newfound love and bitter jealousy, they discover that love is a tender madness.

Love Struck is a sensational novel written by the equally superb author P.M. Thomas and is a book that is the definition of a perfect contemporary fiction/romance read. I admit that I was hooked on this book before I even started to read it; the description of the book managed to intrigue me straight away and ever since reading it I knew I had to get lost in the story of Love Struck. Love Struck is an incredible novel that charmed, shocked and thrilled me with its multiple themes and plot avenues and already I would implore you lovely readers to have a read of this book! It has to be one of the best contemporary fiction novels of the year so do not miss out on the magnificent book!

Love Struck is a fantastic book that is full of enthralling literature, splendid characters and a well-developed plot that usually only occurs with authors who have written multiple books for decades! Love Struck is incredible and if you are a reader who is looking to get lost in a moving story that will captivate as well as entertain you from beginning to end then Love Struck is for you.

Love Struck will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster of a ride and will introduce the reader to Paulo as well as his beautiful girlfriend, Gloria. Paulo and Gloria are on vacation at a beautiful island resort, and the plan is for them to relax and fall in love, even more, however sometimes life has other plans and fate has a different plan for Paulo. Paulo while abroad notices that European superstar Sara Sarracini has arrived and he has always adored her movies and has had a big crush on her. The reader will follow Paulo as he grows close to Sara and the result is a poignant, painfully beautiful story full of new love, jealousy, and heartbreak and is undoubtedly a book not to be missed book lovers.

The story of Love Struck is a profoundly moving one with many profound themes laced throughout the book. I admit that I was guilty of assuming from the description that Love Struck would be a cliché contemporary fiction story but when I started to read it I knew full well that this book was not that kind of read. Instead, Love Struck is a poignant novel full of powerful themes which are all excellently explored and weaved well together by the phenomenal author P.M. Thomas.

P.M. Thomas is an incredible author who has managed to transfix and entertain me with his beautiful literature. I am impressed by the amount of depth Thomas has managed to lace throughout his book; Thomas ensures throughout his book that his readers are entertained and thrilled from beginning to end, and Thomas does this by weaving twists and turns throughout his book which yes, are incredibly entertaining! As well as this Thomas flawlessly weaves brilliant characterization and development of his characters that will keep the readers turning the pages from beginning to end.

Thomas is an exceptional author for many reasons, but one of the primary attributes I love about his writing is the characterization of the characters the reader comes across in the book; specifically Paulo. Readers will struggle with their feelings towards Paulo, they will in part like him but also hate him, and that is the beauty of his character.

Overall Love Struck is an extraordinary piece of contemporary romantic fiction that will entertain and thrill readers from beginning to end so I, of course, have to award the book five stars! It would be criminal not to. So please book lovers, have a read of the excellent book and get lost in an engrossing, captivating story… you will not regret it!
