Ron has completed his student teaching in high school physical education, along with a minor in “adventure”. He graduates but returns immediately to continue his post-graduate work.
During this time Ron finds himself able to move on socially. Jean Dahlquist, one of Audrey’s best friends, re-enters his life and reveals to Ron that she has been in love with him for a long time. She could not tell him this before because Ron and Audrey were so in love. Jean would never do anything that might hurt Audrey. In a very short time, Ron finds himself returning her love.
Life seems to achieve a sense of normalcy only to have one of Jean’s family secrets interrupt. And later a past acquaintance tosses it into chaos again.
Fred Waiss is an author whose work I have grown to love over the last few months. The first book I read and reviewed by Waiss was called Witchery, an incredible fantasy book that thrilled me for hours. The second book I have read and reviewed by Waiss is called Just Lucky, and Just Lucky was a novel that captivated me for many hours thanks to its poignant and compelling story that moved me on more than one occasion. When I finished Just Lucky I was desperate to read the second book in the series, Just Lucky 2 and that is the book I am reviewing today. Just Lucky 2 is a poignant story that is emotive as well as stunningly well-written. Waiss in Just Lucky 2 has managed to once again entertain and enthrall me from the start, and this is thanks to his flawless literature that has a well-developed and compelling plot, incredible, memorable characters and astonishing writing that had me turning the pages fast at an alarming rate. As I read Just Lucky 2 I could do nothing but surrender to the novel and the captivating story and so that is why I recommend that you lovely readers have a read of book one and two as you will not regret it.
Before I discuss the plot of Just Lucky 2, I think it is only wise that I inform you readers more about book one called Just Lucky: Friends and Enemies. Just Lucky will introduce the reader to Ron Russell who has lost the use of his left arm and struggles to cope with his everyday life now that he is disabled. However, Ron soon overcomes his disability and achieves optimum physical health and soon he meets Audrey, a beautiful woman who he falls for but sadly, tragedy strikes again, and Audrey is murdered, leaving Ron devastated and trying to pick up the pieces of his broken life once again.
Just Lucky 2 will once again reunite readers with Ron and Ron is doing better and has recently graduated and life returns to normal for him. However soon a familiar face will re-enter his life, and this is a woman called Jean Dahlquist. Jean was Audrey’s best friend and she confesses that she is in love with Ron and has been for a long time but she was afraid to tell him because of Ron’s relationship with Audrey. Ron is shocked at first but soon Ron and Jean find themselves growing closer to each other but secrets will soon be unveiled and what happens is shocking as well as captivating and this book lovers is the premise of the remarkable Just Lucky 2.
The story of Just Lucky 2 is an incredibly dynamic, unique piece of work that took my breath away on more than one occasion; the pacing of this story was wonderfully written and plotted so that I did not get bored at any given time. I always measure my likeness of a book on whether I find myself looking at the page number; if I do in fact do this I know that the novel is taking its toll… in other words, it is dragging, and I want it to end but Just Lucky 2 was different than this. Never once did I find myself referring to the page number and that is a sure sign Just Lucky 2 is a compelling piece of work that draws the reader in and captivates readers to read quickly!
Fred Waiss is an incredibly talented writer who knows how to entertain and capture the reader’s attention. I adored his descriptive writing and his words flowed beautifully from one page to the next and kept me intrigued the whole way. Waiss’s characters, in particular, were flawless, they were well-developed and perfectly executed, and they all had personalities that readers could find themselves relating to and I believe that is important with any story.
Overall Just Lucky 2 is an incredible sequel to an already brilliant first book and so I would say if you are a reader who is tired of reading the same old books that are lackluster and forgettable then take a chance with this one because I promise you now that you will not be disappointed. It is a novel that has everything the reader would want in a read and so much more; it has spine-tingling good content, dynamic, memorable characters, a charismatic author that writes beautifully and wonderfully so and lastly it is an all-around, entertaining, unforgettable read that you will not be disappointed if you choose to read it.
