The realm of Belkin is now in open civil war. The southern county of Turgany rises up to try to defeat the self-proclaimed President and end his tyrannical rule.

“Freamhaigh: The New Druids Series” is a story on how the last druid will try to change the world. A riveting suspense novel that will keep you guessing until the end. This novel is gripping, a long to-do series, and your perfect bedtime companion!
Freamhaigh is book four in the A New Druid series and dare I write this, but I think that Freamhaigh is my favorite book in the series and throughout my review, I will explain why I believe this. From the start of Freamhaigh I found myself captivated, even more so than with the previous novels, I think this is thanks to the author’s ability to create an air of tension right away at the start of the book. As I started to read the story, I knew that this was going to be epic as well as shocking and so I dived right in. Freamhaigh can only be described as the perfect blend of action, adventure and fantasy because Donald D. Allan brilliantly weaves all of these themes together with his excellent wordsmithery.
What I have loved about the A New Druid series from the beginning is the fact that the series and the world created in the book is original and unlike anything I have read before. Although! Many comparisons could be made to world-renowned books and tv shows because Freamhaigh and the previous three books are of the same high standard. For example, Game of Thrones is an epic, dense and captivating fantasy series and the A New Druid series could undoubtedly be compared to the series. Granted, the two series have many differences but what they both have is a well developed and original land full of many different places. That is why I believe Freamhaigh can easily be compared to Game of Thrones and even the Lord of the Rings series because they all have one thing in common: an entertaining, well-developed story that will make readers lose sleep because of how gripping the story is! Of course, I already recommend the series and Freamhaigh but if you need more convincing, then please do read the rest of my review.
Freamhaigh is the fourth book in the series, so I am going to have to be very careful once again about spoilers! Duilleog, the first book in the series introduces the reader to the protagonist of the novel Will Arbor, a Druid who has a destiny to save his realm and this is the general premise of the series. In Freamhaigh the reader will learn that the realm of Belkin is now in full civil war and Will has to find a way to conquer and defeat Erebus before it is too late and this book lovers it the premise of the remarkable Freamhaigh.
The story of Freamhaigh is excellent, and once again the author Donald D. Allan has managed to breathe new life into his story and into his hero Will Arbor by developing and expanding on his character. I confess that I am obsessed with Will and his journey and who can blame me, I have followed him on his journey over the course of four books now! Will is an excellent character because he is relatable as well as likable. The encounters and situations he has faced throughout the book could easily resonate with readers despite the events being fantasy based because although the A New Druid series is fantasy, some of its themes easily translate to the real world and that is why the series is such a gem of a read.
In Freamhaigh the reader is going to be guaranteed a lot of fighting and a lot of epic battles! Donald D. Allan really went all out for the fourth book and the war, and wow he did not disappoint! However, Allan also knows that too much fighting can be too much for a reader all the time so that is why he has injected dashes of other themes throughout the book which will perfectly delight readers and keep them turning the pages.
Donald D. Allan has managed to create a fantasy world in the most flawless of ways, to create one is difficult, but Allan makes it seem like an easy job. With his world and with each book in the series he manages to breathe new life into the smallest details, into the characters and the events and this keeps the books and the series as a whole very entertaining and enjoyable.
Overall Freamhaigh is another stellar book from Allan, and so I would be mad not to award the book five stars! So please book lovers, have a read of the preview below and be sure to have a read of the previous books in the dramatic series as you do not want to miss out!
