Thank you for joining us today at Red Headed Book Lover! Please tell us more about yourself
I’m an Author, Trainer, TV Talk Show Host & work a lot with youth. I’m living a purposeful life! Check out my website to find out more about the incredible people I’ve worked with (chollowayhill.com)
Could you please tell us readers about your book and what inspired you to write your book?
There is a major habitual behavior pattern among our women & it’s a problem that women aren’t aware of it. There are “frenemy” shows in the media that encourage cat fighting, competition, backstabbing, gossip, sabotage, envy, and betrayal! I’ve experienced it my entire life and having a Masters in Psychology has helped me to dig deep into this issue to bring the underlying reasons to the surface. My Foreword is an interview I conducted with Dr Maya Angelou and that interview, along, with other information and interviews with A-list celebrity women is a major resource for the readers. I believe we need to heal our women so that we can be in a healthy mindset to raise healthy girls to stop this toxic behavior that encourages division instead of unity.
What would your advice be for aspiring writers?
Write about whatever inspires you. Readers can feel your enthusiasm & energy the same way audiences can feel it when you’re a Speaker. Don’t delay! If you have a book in you, go for it. Sharing our knowledge & experience is what life is about.
In your opinion, what is the most important thing about a book?
It’s a major resource that touches on many different angles, reasons and resources for women. Whether you’ve been on the receiving end or the culprit (not realizing you’re doing it), you’ll learn things in this book you never considered or thought about. I also have an entire chapter on what men think. This in and of itself it well worth reading the book. All the editorial reviews have been incredible. This book should be under everyone’s Christmas tree!
What is your writing process like?
I meditate to decide how I want to approach the topic. I then select chapter topics, and from there, I create my first draft. On my first draft, I don’t think about anything besides my passion, purpose and the points I want to get out. I then go back to crest the first edited draft. From that point, it’s tweaking, editing, and creating the finished product.
Do you have a set schedule for writing, or do you only write when you feel inspired?
I’m always inspired to write. I write something everyday. Whether it’s a quote on social media or an article or my next book (I have 3 published books), I do it every chance I get.
Do you read much and if so who are your favorite authors?
I love both fiction & non-fiction. It’s difficult to pick one favorite because there are many new authors that are just as good as seasoned bestselling authors. I select the books I read based on whether I can feel the Author’s passion from reading the back of the book.
When can we readers expect to read more wonderful books from you?
I actually have 3 books which a lot of people don’t know. I’m working on a part two of Secret Betrayal because this book has received so much attention. I didn’t want to make it too long, so look for more because it’ll be coming soon.
