To kick this off here is an author bio about the wonderful Annelies George.

Annelies George was born on 4 August, 1964 in Bussum, After the gymnasium, she followed a one-year course as an international secretary in Amsterdam. Immediately afterward she started to work for a law firm, studying finance, management, and law during the evening hours with the goal of becoming a lawyer herself. A move to a different town brought her into the fast IT world, where she was employed by GE Capital, marking the start of a successful career in the international IT Finance world. Due to the intensity of the job and long working hours, she abandoned her plans for a law degree. At the age of 30, she was appointed to Benelux managing director of a US based lease company, a rare phenomenon at the time, since few women were holding similar positions in the specific branch in the Netherlands. Thereafter she accepted a variety of EMEA and regional management and sales roles with Cisco, Microsoft, and Hewlett Packard. Annelies still lives in Bussum and is taking care of her 83-year-old mother. She loves, among other activities, to paint and design necklaces when she is not writing. On occasion she likes to travel to discover new places and understand the different ways of living around the globe.

In your own words could you please tell us about your book and what inspired you to write your book?

Quest to the Unknown revolves around a Dutch journalist, Jessie Golden, who needs to unravel her path of life, just like we all should. The discovery of a manuscript at the eve of her holidays with Carlos Gomez, a shrewd business man, marks the start of her journey to the unknown. On her quest she gets in touch with the world of the supernatural. Along the way she is confronted with a heart breaking story of the far reaching love a mother has for her son and she appears to be more related to the story than she ever could expected. In parallel she investigates her father in law, who seems to have close connections with the underworld. But is all what is seems? In fact, in the end the reader thinks to get the full picture, but do they really?

The current state of the world and the interconnection between our behavior and the increase of natural disasters was the true reason to start the series. Along the way I discovered that I wanted to share more than my concern about the current state of the Earth. I aim to pass a message through my work for those who are receptive for it relating to topic’s that matter to me. From the start I knew I would write a series of five, having the rough picture where it would start and end! For the first part, I also got inspired by a story of a psychic and ended up on a road trip in the world of the paranormal when I did some research to complete my own picture of the world of the hereafter.

What would your advice be for aspiring writers?

Just start writing! I also wasn’t an experienced writer when I started with the Jessie Golden Series, but I did find my way to get the story out. I think it’s important to get your ideas and thoughts on paper. If in the end you may decide not to publish your work, at least you have the satisfaction you got it on paper for yourself to read.

In your opinion, what is the most important thing about a book?

The story should get under your skin, but that usually only occurs when you have affinity with the topic and the protagonist, enabling you to visualize the story and its settings

Lastly, when can we readers expect to read more wonderful books from you?

The second part in the Jessie Golden Series (Darkness & Light)is planned to be published in September 2018. Furthermore, I am re-writing a fiction/non fiction (depends on how you feel about the topic!) book Learn to Understand your Original Self. During the London Book Fair there was quite some interest in the book as such. At the moment I plan to have it done by the end of this year and published in 2019, but you can never tell in fact when it actually will be done. Alongside a full time job for a French IT and services company, I also take care of a mother with Alzheimer and as time progress she needs more attention and care.
