RED HEADED BOOK LOVER

A Principal’s Tale: Life In 31 Days, Shelley McIntosh

Education & Teaching, Memoir & Biography, NonFiction

More personal in tone than traditional educational books, A PRINCIPAL’S TALE acknowledges that leadership requires risk and commitment, and the greatest risk of all is discovered as we learn how to educate our own way, and lead with impact in today’s ever-shifting educational world. My personal stories in the office to the classroom will shine at times personal, and at times a humorous look into the everyday life of a principal. Written on a daily basis, similar to a diary or journal entry, the book details thirty one days in the life of an urban school principal, painting a true picture of the professional, emotional, and personal experiences of those who lead a school and a family of educators and learners.

A Principal’s Tale: Life In 31 Days is a poignant, moving and inspirational memoir/educational book that will take readers on a thought-provoking journey while entertaining them at the same time. A Principal’s Tale is written by author Shelley McIntosh and Shelley throughout A Principal’s Tale will take her readers on a journey through 31 days while she was a principal.

Memoirs combined with poignant and educational themes are my favorite type of books to read. I adore memoirs because they give the reader insight into a person’s fascinating life and when the reader is granted this insight the reader can learn so much from their story, and many readers will be able to learn a lot from Shelley’s story in A Principal’s Tale. The reader in A Principal’s Tale will be whisked away on a fascinating journey and Shelley is so brilliantly descriptive about what she does that the reader will feel as if they are right there next to her, learning the life lessons she learns along the way and experiencing every moment she does as a principal. The reader, thanks to the author’s impeccable descriptions will feel as if they are right there and thanks to the author’s honesty and exploration of the experienced during the 31 days and the reader won’t be able to resist falling in love with A Principal’s Tale, and that is why I already have to recommend this gem of a book to read.
