Between natural disasters, shootings, social division and more, the year 2017 has weighed heavily on the United States. There has been great pain and devastation from the many tragedies but through these disasters there have been hidden victories as well. This book highlights both the good and the bad of the year 2017 through a series of thought-provoking poems.
Half of all author proceeds will be donated to disaster relief.
2017 is an incredible poetry book that has made me fall in love with poetry all over again. The sad truth is is that I do not read poetry books as much as I would like to but this is not my choice. The reason I have not read many poetry books recently is that the ones I have been finding seem to be generic and not original which is what I hate in any book, let alone a poetry book! If I read a poetry book, it has to be incredible and has to transfix me as well as charm me and make me feel a host of different emotions. That is why I am so happy to have discovered 2017 by Tarin Breuner because this poetry book is one of the most original, unique and beautifully crafted poetry books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. If you are a reader who adores poetry and getting lost in beautiful and poignant poems that will move you, then 2017is the poetry book for you and should not be missed!
2017 is a different type of poetry book because its poems focus on the year 2017 and all that occurred in America during this time. The poems highlight the many tragedies that happened because of school shootings and natural disasters, but the poems also focus on all the great things that have occurred to that have been hidden and are unheard of, and the result of this is a moving companion of poems that will transfix and stay with readers for months.
The poems laced throughout 2017 are exceptional as well as original and transfixing, and I know that they are because even though I have finished reading them all, I can’t stop thinking about them! That is when you know book lovers when you have found a sensational book, it is so exceptional that I found myself re-reading parts and getting lost in them even further.
Tarin Breuner is a newly discovered poet of mine, but I wish I had found her work sooner because never before have I been so transfixed by poems. I have read a lot of poems in my time, especially since a young age but never have I ever been so provoked by one, emotionally and mentally. Breuner does this with her mesmerizing prose and well developed and structured poems. The poems honestly will keep readers turning the pages from beginning to end so do not miss out!
Overall 2017 is a sensational, unique, and beautiful poetry book that should not be missed, I, of course, have to award this stellar book five stars! So please, have a read of 2017 and get lost in the captivating words of Tarin Breuner and be compelled to read from the very beginning to the very end.
